I am going to assume Lucy is a dog, as I do not have that information here. My best advice is to bathe Lucy less frequently. Baths actually strip the natural oils in a dog's skin, which help maintain a healthy coat. If Lucy does get dirty on an outing and requires a bath, try to reward her when she is still and praise her verbally. Tell her "good girl" , "calm girl" and reward her calm moments. I would also try letting her air dry rather then blow drying her. The loud noise may be frightening her, due to her sensitive hearing. This is a great option for keeping Lucy still while you try to bathe her, it has built in restraints; http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/prod_display.cfm?pcatid=20500

HI, thanks for using Boop by Petco! Poor Lucy! It is likely a skin infection which can be from allergies. It could also be ringworm or demodex (non-contagious mite). Your Vet can help distinguish between the possible causes. If a skin infection they will likely prescribe antibiotics, something to help the scratching and possibly a medicated shampoo. I think Lucy is fine to wait for her appointment next week! Good luck!

A lesion like this can be related to ringworm, a bacterial infection, skin mites or an allergy. I recommend to have Lucy tested for ringworm since it can spread to humans to be safe. Make sure to keep her from scratching the area with an Elizabethan collar if needed. I hope this helps and please feel free to post any additional questions.

That sounds like a good plan for the first couple of days of Lucy being home to help keep everyone safe. See the links below for more information, and congratulations on the new addition! https://veterinarypartner.vin.com/default.aspx?pid=19239&id=8569058 https://indoorpet.osu.edu/dogs/new_additions_dogs/intro-dog-cat

Hello, and thank you for your question. Does Lucy seem like she is stressed and asking you for something, such as more food or water, or wanting you to clean her litter box? If she seems like she is losing weight, it may be worth taking her to the vet to check for a medical problem. If she is not losing weight, then I would just check for anything that she may be missing in her environment, and keep an eye on her for a few more days. Monitor her food intake closely, and take her to the vet if her appetite is low or she is losing weight, or any vomiting or diarrhea occurs. I hope this helps, and that Lucy is feeling well!
