Friskies is ok, it's not the best of the supermarket brands, but it's certainly not the worse. In terms of supermarket brands, I prefer Purina, but if Atticus has been eating Friskies his entire life, I'd keep giving it to him. Best of luck, I hope this helps!

I would feed whichever brand your cat(s) prefer. Both diets do meet the minimum standards for nutrition and are fine as long as your cat doesn't have any health issues like urinary crystals or stones. You are providing them adequate nutrition and it is important they eat what they prefer and you can reasonably afford.

In mild cases, any wet food may be sufficient to keep the urine suitably dilute to prevent recurrence but i would recommend 6weeks of the specialist urinary wet food to stabilise and maximise recovery. If symptoms recur then i would recommend urinary food only thereafter

As a general rule of thumb, I tend to recommend Hill's Science Diet, Purina ProPlan and Royal Canin diets. These companies thoroughly analyze the nutrient profiles of their foods, perform controlled clinical studies and source their ingredients well. As for Gracie's canned foods, consider microwaving the refrigerated portions for a few seconds to see if this may tempt him to eat any "leftovers".
