Hello, and thank you for using Boop by Petco. The method of documenting mixed breeds is different for all clinics - there isn't necessarily one universal way of documenting this in the medical record, and clinics are often limited to the settings in their record system database, so I recommend calling your vet and explaining the situation. Some record systems allow an animal to be entered as two specific breeds (pomeranian x husky) while other systems require you to choose the primary breed and list it as a mix ("pomeranian mix" or "husky mix"). Some systems allow a manual addition of a breed, which could allow the record to say "pomsky" but many don't work that way. So - talk to your vet! Since your dog is a cross between two breeds, and the apartment staff said they'll respond differently if the dog is listed as a mixed breed, I would expect your vet can work with that. Hope this helps!

Docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) is an omega-3 fatty acid that is mainly found in fish. Animal bodies cannot create DHA, so it must be ingested as a part of the diet or through supplementation. Recent studies have demonstrated improvement in the neurologic function of puppies when their mothers were supplemented with DHA during pregnancy and lactation, relative to puppies from mothers that had not received supplementation. After weaning, puppies fed diets containing DHA or given DHA supplements have demonstrated benefits both in learning and memory function.

I am sorry to hear about your concern for Kodak! I would recommend having him examined by his vet. With a lesion like this, we could have a reaction to an insect bite, a bacterial infection, a fungal infection (ringworm https://veterinarypartner.vin.com/default.aspx?pid=19239&id=4951439 ), or a growth seen in young dogs called a histiocytoma https://veterinarypartner.vin.com/default.aspx?pid=19239&id=4952066 . Ringworm is contagious to people, so it is a good idea to get these lesion examined ASAP and because of this you should be sure to wash your hands after touching the area until you find out the cause.

That looks like a skin lesion to me, which could be from a tick bite. It could also be a ringworm lesion. Without seeing Dozer in person, I can't say for certain what is causing this mark. I recommend giving his vet a call today to make an appointment for him. The vet can diagnose what is causing the mark, and can prescribe a treatment for it. Best of luck.

Yearly vet checks, keeping up with vaccines, take Dakota into the vet whenever he isn't feeling well, keeping up with deworming and flea treatments, administering heart worm medication, and feed a good quality dog food. Also keeping the weight healthy, and regular exercise.
