Hi, thank you for using Boop by Petco. I would work on weaning Cherokee off of the Cesars as soon as you can. That food is very high in fat and not a very healthy food. You don't say how old she is now. If under a year, I would suggest a puppy or growth formula. If adult, feed an adult maintenance food. Purina ProPlan, Science Diet or Iams are all very good brands. Start slowly transitioning her by mixing 75% current food and 25% new diet and switch very slowly to the new food over the course of several weeks. If she is otherwise healthy, a healthy dog is not going to starve themselves to death. But in the long run she will be much healthier on a high quality dog food. Do not give people food or table food at all either. A mix of canned and dry is fine, but it needs to be a good quality food. http://www.veterinarypartner.com/Content.plx?P=A&S=0&C=0&A=2471 Good luck.

Hi there! Thanks for you question. Oh dear, sounds like a lot is going on! Thank you for the picture- he looked like a sweet guy despite the troubles you mention. From you description, it sound like he may have a little fear aggression as well as anxiety. I would strongly encourage you to seek the council of your full service veterinarian as well as seek advice from a canine behaviorist and dog trainer. Depending on what they diagnosis, he may need behavioral modifications to his and your daily routine, Rx medications if warranted by your veterinarian, and some dedication with training on your part. I hope all goes well and best of luck to you and Ceasar!

Hi, thanks for using Boop by Petco! Oh no poor Ceasar! Can you re-post with his symptoms so we can try to help? Honestly I would be very worried about a lethargic, not eating 10 1/2 year old Boxer. We can provide advice here if you want to tell us what he is doing but he should see a Vet for at least an exam. You can be up front and tell the vet you need an estimate past the exam. More scary and life threatening conditions occur in older dogs and Boxers are prone to cancer, heart disease, etc. I wish you the best!

Little Caesars may not be the best food, but if it is all she will eat then you may need to stick with it. All the other foods you listed are premium diets but do no good if she won't eat. You can try mixing in a teaspoon of the Little Caesars with a better food to stimulate her appetite. Warming the food may also help. Do not switch brands frequently as this may cause GI upset and create an even more finicky eater. Start her on a consistent schedule for feeding. Dogs thrive on routine. If this fails, have her examined by your veterinarian to diagnose illness or injury that may cause a decrease or loss of appetite.

No, this is not something that will pass. Garlic is toxic to dogs, and lethargy and weakness are signs of toxicity which Nemoy is showing. This is a medical emergency, and he needs to see a vet immediately. Please take him into an ER vet now.
