Thanks for using Boop by Petco! Usually these behaviors can be corrected but this usually requires in person training by a qualified dog trainer. I recommend you consider contacting a qualified dog trainer to work with you in person. Good luck and have a good day!

Hi there. You could try a daily natural calming supplement such as Zylkene or Composure, if you want to. An Adaptil pheromone collar can also be helpful for mild anxiety issues. If these things don't help, you may want to consider seeing a veterinary behaviorist to discuss a more comprehensive treatment plan for her anxiety issues, which may include prescription medication if needed. You can search for one in your area here: www.dacvb.org

Barking can be a very difficult behavior to control as you know. It sounds like you have tried many options. There are collars and devices that can help control barking. The collar options include shock collars with give a static correction when the pet barks, vibrate when it detects barking or spray collars that squirt fluid when pets bark. There are also devices that you place in the home that will emit an ultrasonic sound that pets don’t like when it detects barking. I recommend to read the product reviews carefully. You don’t want a product that malfunctions or gives unneeded corrections. You could also work with a trainer who may be more successful. Best of luck! I hope this is helpful and please feel free to post any additional questions.

I'm so sorry you and Damon are dealing with this. I'm sure it's heartbreaking to consider having Damon leave your home. Unfortunately, without professional guidance, you may struggle to get him behaving more acceptably. Increased exercise can help. Walking (not running in a park or yard) for at least 30 minutes twice a day (some dogs need much more), doing basic training to give him mental stimulation, using puzzle toys to feed him meals, and scheduling 10 minutes of cuddling/grooming time a day can all help. You can also check out some general pet behavior books - Decoding Your Dog and anything from Sophia Yin are some of my favorites. Patricia McConnell also has a book about leash reactive dogs that could be helpful. Good luck!
