My pet cockatiel is biting his cage and tries to bite/hiss at anyone who comes near his cage. He lives in the cage with another male cockatiel who is much more calm and abit scared. It has been a couple of days since we got them. I need to clean the
Since they are "new", they may need time to acclimate to their new home. A cage with a removable tray may make cleaning easier and safer. You can try offering some food or a treat to distract them while you clean. Acclimating them to you will take time and patience on your part. You will need to start by simply sitting near the cage daily or multiple times daily. Gradually increase the time as they get used to your presence. Move slowly and speak softly. End each session with a treat or reward. Once you gain their trust, begin again, but this time placing your hand in the cage for ever increasing periods of time. Make no attempt to pet or hold them. Again, end each session with a reward. There will be squawking and fluttering about initially, but you will know they are acclimating when this response decreases then disappears. Eventually, you will be able to teach the perch command and hold them.

How long can a cockatiel be out off its cage?
There is no specific amount of time, just as long as the bird is supervised and in a safe area. You'll need to return it to the cage every 15-20 minutes or use a paper towel for bathroom breaks though.

I m new with pet, pidori is my first pet, i m totally inexperienced, i don't know what to do where to start, and it seemed kind of sick and i m not sure aboit it either, it's been only 6days that its with me, what should I do?
Ideally, Pidori should be examined by a veterinarian to confirm good health or to treat any pre existing conditions. Submit a stool sample to diagnose intestinal parasites (worms). Provide a cage large enough to prevent wingtip or tail rubbing. A cuttlebone and/or mineral block should be provided as well. Place several perches in the cage. Use perches of varying sizes and thickness to promote foot health. Feed a quality commercial pelleted diet as the staple (80%). Supplement with a fortified seed mix and fresh fruits and vegetables. Avoid alcohol, caffeine, avocado and pits or seed from fruit. Cockatiels can eat a wide variety of fresh foods such as pastas, cooked egg and beans. Signs of illness include very loose or discolored droppings, a loss of appetite, lethargy (especially when perched with feathers fluffed out).

I have a pair of cockatiels. One have broken wing and unable to fly. I think its a female due to larger foot size. She is unable to fly thats why male also dont practice flying now. How to be sure that they get required excersize? I feed them dry see
It is OK if your birds are not flying. Many bird owners actually have bird’s wings clipped so that they are unable to fly or escape. As long is the cage is an adequate size (which it appears to be) they should be fine. You could try increasing their exercise by taking them out of the cage and playing with them individually, but this is not necessary. Birds can live long happy lives without flying. Yes achu could of been communicating to the other birds around even if he was in his own cage and room. Birds can be very vocal. I would not be. Invented at this time and allow him time to adapt to his new living space. Hope that helps
