Gentle formulation relieves, soothes, and protects mouth tissues against dryness, irritation, inflammation and redness. Oratene contains two patented, natural enzyme systems based on 35 years of enzyme technology that inhibit odor-causing bacteria and remove plaque biofilm. For dogs, cats, puppies, and kittens. Ideal for cats that don't drink much water. Contains the most complete, natural multi-complex enzyme system available. This gel really works to prevent tartar buildup & my dog loves the taste. I give her a couple of licks then rub all over her gums. Her vet always comments on how great her teeth look. I’ve used this for years. She’s 5 yrs old & has only had 1 dental cleaning.

I don't know if this really works, but I use this with a toothbrush and my dog's teeth are looking good so far. But I don't think this replaces mechanical toothbrushing so I recommend that you still brush your dog's teeth

great product for the furbabies who either dislike brushing, or have painful conditions that do not allow it. Also great for dogs who suffer from dry mouth, which happens for all sorts of reasons, medications, stress, age etc. We bought it for our beautiful furgirl who has gingival hyperplasia and dry mouth, she is on allergy medicines and just like people....it causes dry mouth. I rub a small strip onto each side before bed. It has helped a lot! I highly recommend!

I have been using this product since my dog’s adult teeth came in. It’s very easy, just rub it on with your finger. I use this every evening and brush his teeth once a week. He is now almost 4 and his vet says his teeth and gums are perfect.

I have been using this twice a day for a week now and it seems to be helping my dog with her dry mouth. She takes a lot of medication so her mouth gets very dry. It is not a complete fix but does seem to help.

Why is this not carried in store if it's the #1 vet recommended toothpaste? I want to buy something like this. The in-store options all have baking soda and mint. Who would formulate a dog toothpaste that contains mint?

I can never find it in the stores so have to order it online. Often get better deals that way anyway with online discounts. Have tried at least 6 others brands and none work as well and my 3 dogs will only cooperate with Zymox, so I assume they don't like the taste of the others. My 10 yr old mini aussie had some bad back teeth issues after I tried using a different brand, but Zymox daily brushing fixed it completely within 3 months. Vet was very surprised. So try online Petco.com ordering. Or Chewy.com also carries it. Hope this helps.
