Oh Nestle…you fooled everyone for 12 years and now the treats reflect the truth.

Blue bag good...Green bag bad

Lyricon

The new green bag recipe (Hip & Joint) is so bad. I wish you hadn't changed it from the blue bag (Hip Action). I went through a bag a month for years and now I can't use them at all. Hard as a rock...they feel stale. Dang it! Seriously was the best treat before this. Please consider going back to the original. Thank you so much.

The new version is so terrible it’s depressing

Kendra

The original version was called “Zukes Hip Action” and it was amazing, softer for my dog to chew, more glucosamine (way higher MG), and more of all other vitamins/supplements included. They completely redid the ingredients and now it’s called “Hip and Joint”. It has a fraction of the amount of glucosamine as the old version, it’s smaller, denser, and hard for my dog to chew; even harder to break up by hand. Which totally sucks because the old version REALLY helped my dog. I had to switch to Cosequin which is eh, okay. Side note: while digging into alternatives I learned Zukes was bought by Purina in like 2013, no idea why it took them so long to down the quality. I discovered Zukes when I worked in a pet store around 2011 and it was top tier, made by some guy in Colorado. So he must have sold it, kind of sad. :(

Hard

Like others have posted, new recipe in green bags is awful. Hard, smaller pieces. They feel like they are stale. We have been buying for years, no more.

Formula change is awful

DogMom2012

Formula has changed and my dogs went from begging for them to refusing them. The treats used to be slightly bigger and chewy, now it’s like they were put into a dehydrator. They are small and tough and I can’t get a single of my 3 dogs to take one.

New formula is horrible

I’ve bought these for 10+ years and our dog was so excited to get his treat. This new version is terrible and hard, he will not touch them. I’m sure you’re saving money but why would you totally ruin a great product? You’re going to lose money because none of us will continue buying them. I’m sure you don’t care…

Disappointing recipe change to a cheaper version

JV123

The new treats are missing key ingredients that were beneficial to our senior dog. Comparing the packages it looks like they value engineered it to a cheap product. The treats are also hard and a far cry from the soft and chewy version before.

Why change the recipe?!

Gina v

They changed the recipe for these and they are horrible now. Very hard and dry. It doesn’t even have chondroitin anymore. I’ve been buying dukes for 15 years and it’s very disappointing they are changing the formula for a lot of their treats. They changed the mini naturals a few years ago and those are dry now also.

Are these OK for puppies?

Didn't this bag cost $8.99 just a few months ago?

    1. That price was for the smaller bag.  Also, the beef variety costs more than the other flavors.

Are Zuke's Hip Action Treats made in the USA from USA ingredients?

    1. Thank you for your question. These treats are made in the United States, with all of ingredients from NON-CHINA sources. Our meats are all USA sourced, with the exception of our Wild Rabbit, Venison and grass-fed Genuine Jerky Beef from New Zealand.
