Use a reptile hood or clamp lamp fixture only. Make sure hood clamp lamp has a ceramic fixture base for halogen lamp to screw into (no plastic fixtures). Only operate lamp 8-12 hours per day giving your animals an appropriate "photoperiod" (i.e. day and night cycle). Do not allow combustible materials to come in contact with the lamp (i.e. curtains, clothes, etc.). For reptile use only. If outer glass breaks, do not touch any part of the bulb even if the bulb continues to light. Immediately turn power off and let bulb cool.

Guarantee for 30 days, multiple times replaced free within the time, multiple times have paid for as over but always within 45 days. Not worth the price. Doesn't last very long.

Is this a UVB light?

The Turtle Tuff which has been renamed the Repti Tuff bulb does not provide UVB, only heat and UVA.

Hi Ax0lotl, This Zoo Med's Turtle Tuff Splashproof Halogen Light is designed for all aquatic turtle aquarium set-ups where high humidity or accidental water splashing could cause a regular heat lamp to fail or shatter but yes, this may also be used for tortoises. Thanks
