Zoo Med guarantees the materials and workmanship of the Repti Therm UTH for a period of one year from date of purchase. If heater should fail during this time, simply mail heater and your purchase receipt back to Zoo Med for a replacement. Please include a note explaining failure. Zoo Med Laboratories, Inc., 3100 McMillan Road, San Luis Obispo, CA 93401. No other guarantees apply, whether expressed or implied.

120 vac, 60 hZ, 8 watts. Instructions Peel adhesive paper off back of heater and "stick" to the underside of your terrarium. Zoo Med recommends you place heater on either the right or left side of terrarium and gently rub heater to make firm contact with the bottom glass. This allows one side of your terrarium to be warmer than the other, thus giving your animals a natural temperature variance. Helpful Hints Use Zoo Med's high-range reptile thermometer to monitor the temperature of your terrarium. Should your terrarium be in a particularly cold area you may need to add an additional Repti Therm UTH heater or Zoo Med's Repticare Rock Heater. Caution Do not use the Repti Therm UTH Heater on plastic or wood terrariums. Provide adequate ventilation below pad to prevent overheating. Product includes eight-page illustrated Instruction Book with complete instructions, cautions, and frequently asked questions.

Do not use this without a thermostat! My dragon was fine with it under his hide, it’s cold where I live so I need a heat emitter above and pad for below at night, but after a more month of use I noticed my dragon was hot (mouth gaping & fingers up, palms down) in his hide. I tested the temp via infrared gun and it was at 122* F

No, I do not recommend this product.

If the tank was in a closet it would work. In the small bedroom it’s too drafty. We used side mount. Bottom mount is for tank stands only and I suspect that would work but beardies receive heat from top not bottom. I moved it behind the tank so it’s between tank and wall. Works a little better but only a 3 degree improvement.

No, I do not recommend this product.

I bought this item a few weeks ago for my hermit crab tank. It doesn’t really get that warm but I should have bought a larger one because my tank is very big.

Yes, I recommend this product.

don't use for bearded dragons. they don't have feelings on their belly and this has no way of knowing or keeping the temperature at a certain temperature. it can burn them and that won't be good. I wound recommend for bearded dragons, other pets are probably fine.

No, I do not recommend this product.

The adhesive is really weak when warm. It has peeled away from the bottom of the tank numerous times.

Can I use this for half of my 36 inch long milk snake tank?

  1. Yes you can use the small under tank heater on that glass habitat but make sure it is not the primary heat source. The small heater is also rated for glass habitats that are 10-20 gallons in size, if you have a 40 gallon tank you may need the medium under tank heater to get a better increase in the tank temperature. When used following the directions the under tank heater takes about 3-6 hours to warm up completely, its normally operating temperature runs at about 95-100 degrees F and brings the ambient temperature in your tank up between 2-10 degrees F. If your room is say only 70 degrees then the ambient temperature in the tank may be 72-80 degrees with the heater. If you are placing the heater on the side of the tank then you may only notice about a 2-5 degree increase. The heater should feel only warm to the touch it should never feel hot. If the tank is in a room that the temperature fluctuates then the temperature in the tank will fluctuate as well. If the tank is not getting warm enough you may need a secondary heat source.

Will this be good for my baby pack man frog I just bought? He's in a 10 gallon tank I just bought a fogger as well and I need something to keep him warm the blue light hear lamp is not doing anything.

  1. I don’t think so. Not 10 gallons. I used it for a praying mantis in an 8x5” insect cage and it was adequate.

will this cover one third of a 10 gallon tank?

Will this work for my bearded dragon's 29 gallon tank?

    1. I do not believe that these heating sources work well with bearded dragons because the dragons can’t actually feel beat on the bottom of their stomachs. This product does not come with a thermostat or thermometer there for you can’t tell if your dragon is getting burned or not

    What is the wattage?
