Questions

1 - 10 of 15 Questions

what is the range of particle sizes of this bark product?

    Is this good for frogs?

Could this be used in potting soil mixes

      1. You could use at the bottom of planter for drainage.. absolutely.

I have a juvenile green frog that is about an inch long. I am worried about my frog possibly trying to eat the smaller pieces of substrate that fit in her mouth. Would this be an issue? Should I replace the substrate?

      1. The reptiles/amphibians know it's not edible.

Would this work well with a ball python

      1. Yes, this, cypress mulch, coco fiber, or a mixture are good choices

Can I use this for my Chameleon?

      1. Yes! In my opinion, it's the perfect substrate.

Could this be used for a blue tongue skink? If not, what might be a better choice?

      1. It depends on what type of bluey. Indos need higher humidity and this works well for that. Or a mix of this and a coconut fiber sub, good for burrowing.

Would this be good for a Carpet Python? They need at least 40% humidity but it's best to have 65% humidity.

      1. Cypress wood such as Zoo Med Forest floor natural cypress mulch might work better. I recommend doing a lot of research (no such thing as too much) and getting whatever fits your budget best.

How big are the pieces of bark?

      1. They are mixed in size, about the size of o dime. It makes it easy to clean.

Can I use this for a bearded dragon

      1. Best things to use for your dragon is shelf liner, paper towels, tile or slate or repticarpet .I personally like the tile and slate cause it helps keep thier nails filled down so you don't need to cut them as offen.
