Great value but stinks

I bought this a couple of months ago. I thought it was good but it starts to stink and settle at the bottom of the tank. I have to clean the tank a few times and touch it up because this clogs up my filters and everything stinks.

No, I do not recommend this product.

My turtle absolutely loves these. I try to keep them on hand at all times to supplement with the regular food. I highly recommend these if you have a picky turtle like mine who will not eat mealworms. They are always high quality and I've been thoroughly please every time I purchase them. They also help give your turtle the protein that it needs.

could a reeves turtle eat this food? If so what age?

How many pellets do you need to feed every day?

    1. 1. you must not overfeed your Red Ear Slider because it will lead to pyramid shell, and eventually organ failure and premature death. 2. You should only feed a certain amount of pellets (depending upon age and size of turtle/ quality of pellets). Hatchlings under 2inch shell size feed daily, roughly a head size amount of pellets. Look at your turtle's head, and picture the amount of pellets it would take to fill it's head if it were hollow= head size amount. 2-4 inch shell length I would decrease it to 2/3rds of it's head size. 4-6 inches you can continue with 2/3rds but switch to feeding pellets every other day. Over 6 inches you can drop it down to 1/2 it's head size every other day. 3. Turtles always think they are hungry, because of survival instinct (and a extremely short term memory) they will eat until their stomach is literally stuffed. Your turtle will beg for food (almost constantly if you give in to it's begging) and you should ignore this begging. 4. Provide your turtle with fresh dark leaf types of lettuce. He/she can be fed as much dark leaf lettuce as it wants, the older it gets the more greens it will want to eat. Turtles naturally become more herbivores as they mature. Also a couple times a week you can feed sweet potatoes, and several other veggies depending on your turtle's taste. 5. Once a week a high protein snack is okay, like the dehydrated shrimp they sell. But don't overfeed, especially with the snacks. 6. Read a good care sheet on a turtle specific forum. And research online for yourself, because this is just my advise and everyone does things slightly different. Just don't listen to anyone who recommends letting your turtle eat as many pellets as it can in 15 minutes or 20 mins everyday. Your turtle will die young.
