Best coconut husk size

We love this product and use it for our crested gecko cage. The disc size is easier to use vs the much bigger and messier block size for coconut husk

No, I do not recommend this product.

Tarantulas Like It And Will Use It To Burrow

I bought this to use a substrate for two wolf spiders’ enclosures. It expanded to be way more than you would expect. I find that coconut bedding does not hold moisture very well over time, however. But my tarantulas in the past have still enjoyed it and used it to burrow.

Yes, I recommend this product.

As with the substrate, just put it in water and it expands. It is great for smaller tanks or containers.

This stuff is great. It’s really easy to make, just open the package and toss into water and let it sit for a bit. Then add it to the tank. The hermit crabs always burrow in it

Yes, I recommend this product.

Can this be used for snails?

how many do you need of these for a 20 gallon?

I have a 10 gallon tank and 2 hermit crabs. How many do I need per change?

      1. 2 if you want them to burrow 1 if you just want to cover the surface

How often does this soil need to be changed?

      1. Once a week is ideal

Do you make this with regular tap water or do you have to use declorinated water?

      1. I would recommend using dechlorinated water to expand the hermit crab soil.

do you mix sand and the soil together or just use one or the other ?

      1. You can use just this or you can mix it with sand just sand does not keep enough humidity hermit crabs need 80% humidity just make sure you get enough, hermit crabs need at least 6 inches of substrate to molt .Good luck caring for your hermit crabs!
