Can this be used for snails?
how many do you need of these for a 20 gallon?
I have a 10 gallon tank and 2 hermit crabs. How many do I need per change?
- 2 if you want them to burrow 1 if you just want to cover the surface

- I would recommend using dechlorinated water to expand the hermit crab soil.

do you mix sand and the soil together or just use one or the other ?
- You can use just this or you can mix it with sand just sand does not keep enough humidity hermit crabs need 80% humidity just make sure you get enough,hermit crabs need at least 6 inches of substrate to molt .Good luck caring for your hermit crabs!

Currently I am using calcium sand. It doesn’t seem to be effecting Ash at all. Should I continue to use the sand or get something else such as eco earth?
I recently got some hermit crabs. The nearest pet store to me is an hour away so I made a visit to purchase supplies. But I didn't get as much substrate as I needed, unfortunately. I was planning to go and get more when I had the chance. But I believe my largest crab is molting, it's trying to dig underground but there's not yet enough substrate for him to really bury himself yet. I know you should not bother a molting crab, but if I buy more substrate should I put it in there with him or wait

bought three hermit crabs on June 28th. Two of them are very active and have even witnessed them changing shells a few times. However, the third one seems to be staying burrowed most of the time. I am concerned.
We’ve recently bought a pet snail and I’m wondering if we should put calcium rich sand on the bottom of the tank we have some made for hermit crabs and I feel as though he shouldn’t be submerged in water all the time so should I put some down or is he fine? first of all, thanks for your advice with my african dwarf frogs! after the aquarium salt bath they are doing great and even look more vibrant now! i was wanting to know what substrate would be best in the tank. would sand be okay or would they eat that like the gravel? i have a heavily planted aquarium and need something to keep the plants in place but i dont want my frogs to eat it and have something happen to them. i find conflicting information when i research it online. thanks!
