I’ve had my hermit crabs for 3 years and have been using this the whole time. It seems to do the trick since my crabs are thriving! I put it in a spray bottle to spray their tank, their drinking water, and their salt water. It also lasts a long time!

Yes, I recommend this product.

Have had hermit crabs for 3 years. Use this for treating regular tap water for the crabs to use. Works well. Crabs are still alive:)

Tap water and other unchlorinated water kill hermit crabs by causing blisters on their gills and suffocating the poor Hermie to death. This is why all water should be dechhlorinated. This product does the job perfectly by removing the chlorine and conditioning the water so Hermit crabs can happily bathe and drink it. Decholrinated water should also be used when you soak their substrate, wash, and boil their play toys and other items. This product is a must have!

Yes, I recommend this product.

Great water conditioner

The first review is incorrect. They gave this product a bad review simply because they are not well educated in hermit crabs. This water conditioner is for the FRESH drinking water that crabs need and works great at removing the chemicals harmful to Hermies. This same brand (zoo med) also makes a salt water conditioner so you can turn your tap water into safe salt water. There should be a dish for fresh and one for salt (i like to use a bit larger one for salt because they enjoy bathing in it and smaller dish for fresh to drink) in their cage. Then with a food dish should be 3 dishes total in cage. This is not meant to be for salt water. I wish people did more research into products and their pets before writing reviews that are not accurate.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Hermies need two water dishes: fresh and salt. This conditioner is excellent to put into tap water to make fresh drinking water.

Not Enough Salinity

Hermit crabs need salt in their water, this is a fact. This salt though, only contains 1/5 the proper salinity that crabs need. You are better off buying Insant Ocean or Oceanic marine reef tank salt and mixing that to a ratio of 1/2 cup per gallon of water.

No, I do not recommend this product.
