Has this been washed with water several times to help remove chemicals?
Is this OMRI (Organic Materials Review Institute) certified? Normally certified for food that is in accordance with USDA's as Organic. I want to use it for growing organic vegetables.
- Being Certified has NOTHING to do with it.. organic means produced from a LIVING thing... the LEGAL definition of "organic" only means that certain ferts and peticides has ever been used on it.. The coir is dead, and offers little in the way of any nutritional benefits to a plant, but its a GREAT medium to use to grow plants IF you are attentive to your plants.. add vermiculite and perlite to it to allow it to drain better, be fluffier and easier for storong healthy roots to grow, and so it will hold the RIGHT amount of moisture for longer than regular earth soil ever could in the same.conditions... and the price is right, at the time i wrote this...
