On for 6 hours a day, gave a lot of light with little heat. But it didn't even make it a year before it burnt out, not sure if it's safe to get another one.

No, I do not recommend this product.

I'm buying 3 more and as other reviews on other popular sites, they just don't last long. Still, got to have them. They are great in the zilla low profile fixtures that hook to lids with the small springs. I don't feel like there is a risk of fire with the zilla fixtures that hold these bulbs.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Expensive but hope it lasts a good long time.

Expect it to last a long time. Bit pricey. Fits in the Pro Sol fixture, and I like how I can create a different lighting/basking zone for my turtle.

Yes, I recommend this product.

The lightbulb that originally came with my tank needed replacing and so I went back to the source. They stay bright and warm for basking!

Would this provide enough heat and UVB for a terrapin?

  1. Yes

I’m wondering how much heat, if any, this bulb emits. I don’t need a heat one for my crested as it maintains a good temperature in my house without it. (I have a heat bulb during winter though).

  1. A little, but not much more than you expect from a regular light bulb. Certainly not enough to make a difference in habitat temperature. Great for lighting and UV, though.
