NOT FOR SMALL SPIDERS

I bought this a day ago for my Antilles Pinktoe that is a smaller spider. She escaped in less than 24 hours. Other reviews have mentioned the gaps on the door. I thought since she was a bit bigger than a jumping spider this would be okay but I was wrong. It looks great but not good for smaller spiders at all.

No, I do not recommend this product.

pros: assembly was super easy and took no more than 5 minutes. once put together, the enclosure is spacious without there being too much room. cons: even when the door is closed, the placement of the latches leaves 2 small holes in the sides. my jumper did escape after only being in there for 2 days. upon further research, i learned that said holes are an issue for many other users of this product as well. overall, you should probably stay away from this enclosure for young spiders. it may be suitable for slightly larger species or adult spiders, but there are just too many escape routes. don’t take the risk.

No, I do not recommend this product.

My adult jumping spider escaped this enclosure after two days. Assembly was easy enough, but the enclosure was not secure at all. Lots of gaps and flimsy enough for a spider to squeeze its little body through multiple points. I taped over all the gaps and she still got out. Do not buy for jumpers!!

No, I do not recommend this product.

Had a homemade enclosure for my little for awhile now. Thought it would be nice to get him an upgrade. Well i did And sure enough he escaped within days with this one. Not sure why there would be such a large hole on the opening door. Poorly made product. Definitely do not recommend 😊

Would this be okay for a pet garden snail?

  1. Hello! A snail would prefer our Terrestrial Micro Habitat instead of the Arboreal!

An adult regal jumping spider won't be able to fit through the air holes right? The other reviews said there jumping spiders escaped because of it. Is it only recommended for adult jumping spiders?

  1. For more information about this product, please contact our knowledgeable team at 1-888-255-4527. They’re available to assist you!

Can I use this for a caterpillar (or a few?)

  1. Hello! Yes the Zilla Micro Habitat can be used to house caterpillars!

Does anyone know if UVB is able to pass through the enclosure? Wondering if it’s worth having one for my tiny baby geckos

  1. Hello! You would be able to use UVB light on this enclosure as it does not provide much heat; however, it is not recommended to use a heater with the Micro habitat.

what reptiles could i keep in here

How many gallons is this tank?

    1. Hi! Thank you for reaching out. The measurements of this tank are 8 " L x 6 " W x 14 " H inches. This habitat is meant for small pets like invertebrates, reptiles, and amphibians. If you have more questions, please call our friendly Consumer Care team at 1-888-255-4527.

I see this was asked but not a great answer was given so, Can you place a heating mat on the tank? My mantid needs one for its care so will have to be able to do well with a ten to twenty gallon heater pad.

    1. I keep inverts in these. I use LED strip light placed on top for heat. There’s really not a good place for a heat pad.

Would this work for a corn snake?

    1. I would not use it for any sort of snake.

Can I use a heat mat under this tank?

    1. I couldn't say for sure, but it is sturdy plexiglass so I would imagine you could. Probably check with the manufacturer to be sure.

Could this hold a Hissing Cockroach? I ordered some and I have everything but the cage. Could they escape (I ordered a male so he'll be big)

    1. This particular model it tall with just a small amount of ground space. There is another model that is short and mostly has ground space that would work
