DO NOT BUY - this KILLS turtles
This product kills turtles and the company does nothing to fix it. They drown by getting trapped in the empty space. It's disgusting that this has been an issue for years and Zilla has done NOTHING to address it.

Killed My Turtle
Research this product! Like other reviews here and elsewhere, this product killed my turtle. Its head and legs got wedged in the holes underneath. It got stuck and eventually drowned. I practically had to pry it out from underneath it got wedged in so badly. How many more of these death traps is Petco going to sell before they pay attention to tjeee reviews?

I can't believe that this is still for sale after the multiple reports of turtle deaths by this trap

Zilla Killa my turtle
My turtle managed to get stuck underneath with her head stuck through the holes in her feet out the other holes. She couldn't get out and she drowned. I could barely get her dead body out of the base of this Zilla Killer. My turtle survived a house fire in 2005 only to die in 2023 drowning because your product has a design flaw

DO NOT buy this product!! The turtle somehow got stuck inside and when I went to feed her in the morning, it was dead. I will never buy anything from this company.

Good but turtle doesn't like it
I have no issues with the product itself. My turtle has absolutely no interest in it. I have always used the floating dock size large. That product has been impossible to get!
This product was quite expensive to never be used. I joined the back order list for the original dock we use.

Horrible Adhesion
Just lost my third one. It's always the same thing, as with countless others, the post connecting to the platform uses cheap weak adhesives and it breaks under the slightest pressure. 1st, picked up and broke off in my hand. 2nd, put into the bin I rinse all her stuff in and broke even when handled gently. 3rd, turtle climbed on top and it broke. It just sucks because size-wise, it's so hard to get a large enough basking platform outside of this. Now I have to figure something out. I give up.

Bad design, waste of money
Put this in my turtles tank and it really is enormous and takes up a lot of swim space. My Turtle had no interest in basking on it. Instead like others, my Turtle pushed it which cause it to start to float enough for my Turtle to get underneath. Luckily my fat turtle just pushed it to its side in order to get out. Took this thing out within a month. Waste of money

I bought this for my outdoor pond. How do I keep it from floating to the edges?
- Hi there! Thanks for your question. While this floating basking turtle trunk is not intended to be used in a pond, you possibly could still use it in one. As a way to resolve this floating issue, we'd recommend anchoring the lower part of the stump to the bottom of the pond. We hope you find this advice useful!
