Ineffective and almost $30 more expensive in store
I purchased this on 4/5/2024, brought it home, read the instructions, set it up and after more than an hour, the ambient tempature read 38.4 degrees (Fahrenheit, not Celcius) give or take a degree or two. Then when I was looking at my receipt to take it back, I noticed that they charged me $72.49 when it is actually listed on line at $44. Needless to say I'm wasting my valueable time having to return this due to it being ineffective and appearantly PetCo would rather people purchase on line instead of visiting an actual store. Now I know why I don't ever shop at PetCo.

Go for a different thermostat.
Don't bother getting this thermostat. Mine was off by 20 degrees, causing me to think that my reptiles are super cold. Nope! Just a crap thermostat.

Lost business
I can order this online and it says it will be ready in an hour. It said they had one since this morning when I first checked. Lady comes around ask if I needed help. I showed her the product and she went looking. She came back apologizing say I needed to come back tomorrow (it’s 6pm at this time) because they couldn’t open the boxes but assured me they had it. I said I can order right now and it says it will be ready in an hour. She said if I did that than she would short the stock. I just said really shook my head a left. This is absolutely ridiculous and you have lost business because of it.

Not worth the money
Setup was easy but once it reaches the correct temperature it doesn't just turn off the power on the heat matt. The thermostat fully turns off and when I try to turn it back on it turns off again a few minutes later. This is causing the heat matts get turned off completely.

Works as expected. Temps seem to be a few degrees off, but still works well.

It.. works?
It's about 10-15 degrees off. Had to buy a thermometer gun to keep checking my reptile's encloseres and make sure it wasn't getting too hot or too cold. Thermostat is set to 100° and the hot side of the enclosures are at about 85-90° and cold side about 75-78°

Very Low End Thermostat.. .
No matter what temp I set this to, it always fluctuates 1 degree below, and then 2 degrees above (totaling a 4 degree shift in temps, constantly). Sometimes it will shoot 3 or 4 degrees past set temps. On top of that It makes a loud "click" everytime it turns on or off, which has become extremely annoying.

Does it save the set temperature if the power goes out?

The unit does not have a memory battery, so it cannot hold long-term memory if unplugged or during a power outage, but if the power outage is not too long, the residual power stored in the internal capacitors does provide for short term memory (i.e. short power outages, unplugging and plugging back in, etc.). Just curious, if i ever needed to use a electric heater . in ,y reptile room during the winter, but needed to regulate the temp, to 80 degrees and have it kick on/off to keep the entire room at 80, will this hold up to that type of application ?
- Hi there! This would be helpful with telling you the direct temperature where the probe is placed. But it will be cooler as you get further away from the probe.

will it work with heat lamps and heatameters/ceramic bulb thingys ( or what ever there called)
- Yes. It simply measures the temperature wherever you place the sensor inside the habitat, and then turns the power on or off to the heating appliance that is plugged into the thermostat, according to how the temperature compares to the set point (which you set). As long as your heat appliances (up to 2) have standard (U.S.) electrical cords, then this should work.

- Hi there! It will work with all heating devices. With heat mats, you need to make sure that the temperature sensor is placed in close proximity to the heat mat on the bottom of the tank.
