Questions
Can I use a heater that attaches to the bottom of the 5.5 gal critter cage? It says it can’t be used on plastic. What material is this made of?
- It is made of glass and you could easily put an under cage heater. I have used it for a snake and a toad no problems. It is a great little size and very sturdy.

will this work for Russian tortise? I will be getting a large cave for it that may not fit and maybe the creature would feel crushed or too spaced
- I would say this would be too small. I had one hermit crab in it and I didn't feel he had enough room.

Would this be good for a Vietnamese Centipede?
- I would say yes. I keep tarantulas in this size, one thing I would be concerned about, is making sure they cannot reach the screen top. Centipedes can chomp through a lot, wouldn’t want an escapee.

What would be good for a banded water snake? In gallons, please (I can't find anything).
- Being semi-aquatic, water snakes can get about 3-5 ft long and should be housed in nothing smaller than a 20L by adulthood. If the snake is still young, you can start with a 10G and then upgrade to the 20L.

Would this tank be good to use temporarily as a home to 2 female mice or rats?
- We would actually recommend taking a look at our sister company Kaytee for this purpose!

Is this watertight to hold 5 gallons of water?
- We do not recommend using our Critter Cages with any amount of water.

could i get this for a leopard gecko?
- No. Even for juveniles this would be too small. Leopard geckos need temperature gradients and hides that reflect those specific fluctuations, plus "clutter" to feel safe and secure since they are prey animals, so really with everything they require a 20 gallon long is the minimum housing requirement that can accommodate all of this. A lot of people are learning that a 40 gallon is a more appropriate size for adults though, so I'd say a 20 long is the bare bones minimum, but would look into a 40 gallon front opening tank for an adult :).

Would this be good for a baby hognose snake?
- Hi there! Yes, but we would suggest going to a 10 Gallon because it will last a little longer and still be small enough for the hognose to feel secure.

Would this be too big for an L5 Chinese praying mantis?
- We'd suggest something larger as that mantis will grow much larger than that terrarium. A small Zilla Fresh Air Screen Habitat with a lot of vines and plants would be excellent!
