Bought this kit today as we found a baby eastern paint. Says it comes with everything to get you started….. no rocks no plants… you’re limited on the amount of water you can actually put in this set up too due to the filter rock. My kit was missing the light. Had the bulbs but no fixture. Back to he pet store to spend another $80 on a light setup which that too is less than impressive. For the moment I guess this tank will suffice but after spending over $400 today on getting a subpar setup, I think next time I’ll just buy everything separately.

Having issues with this kit, to begin with the bulbs that come with this kit do not keep the water warm enough, second; the pump is very noisy and makes the water cloudy and foamy. Even after cleaning the tank and changing out the water. Not sure if it’s the pump or the Zilla filters, but nothing seems to help.

Had to improvise with the filter cause your turtles will need a lot more water than what it can offer. Secondly it seems impossible for them to get into that bask platform had to buy a better one. And apparently the lights are not enough to give the UBV and warmth they need. I spent 200 on it so waste of money pretty much...

Actually; this is a VG Turtle Tank because Turtles do NOT need to swim like a Fish; Turtles usually habitat the edges of Ponds/Lankes where the water level is lower; recommend;

It’s a larger habitat for my turtle heat lamp could be better real photos of what youre buying should be implemented on the website. You still need rocks 20lbs + plants,a corner hideout. Oh and you gon need a stand as well. A siphon pump of some sort cause yeah you can’t lift this with 20lbs of rock and water

Ideal set up, but not near enough heat

I bought this specific setup so that I could safely have our pet turtle move to my classroom. It appears with this smaller dome that it would not get hot to the touch and be safe for my kindergarteners (in case they touched it) But there appears to be little to no heat coming from that little blue bulb. My poor turtle just floats and is not near as active. So I returned to using the old dome with the big heater, but I am unable to take him to school this way. This is quite disappointing and I am hoping to find a better way. I would really like this setup to work. My turtle does enjoy the flow from the filter so that is a plus. I would recommend this kit if I could figure out how to get heat to my turtle safe for everyone.

Not very well thought out for an aquatic turtle. Highly recommend doing your own research for the individual needs for your turtle and buying everything separately. The fixture supplied with the kit is not strong enough for a yellow bellied slider. The filter that comes with the kit pours out of the ramp to the basking dock. For a smaller turtle this is an issue, as they had a very difficult time overcoming the current to get to the top.

What brand and type food comes with set? Contacted Zilla. Their response was wrong. I sent picture of mine. Zilla said it wasn't theirs. It was in the Zilla kit. My 4 mo. old red eared slider won't eat the three foods I bought for it. Bought baby food.

Will this tank works for axolotls as they grow up? Axolotls are fully aquatic, but also need wide tanks because they like to stick to the bottom and also what filter would you recommend for an axolotl?

    Hi there! Yes, as long as the tank was filled to the level of the filter, but a regular 40 breeder would be better. This way, you could fill the tank all the way and allow more space.

Is this tank safe to fill up to the top with water? Will it hold or this tank not fit to hold 20 gallons of water ? Reason I’m asking is because I have a spare tank that I had for my tortoise from this kit but may want to use it for fish

    Hi there! Thanks for your question. This tank will not hold water up to the top, as there is an opening to hang the filter on in the aquatic turtle tank. Instead, we'd recommend checking out our sister company Aqueon. They have a 20 gallon tank that would work perfectly for this purpose!
