Bad buy
I just bought this item five days ago. The light came on for a minute and then turned off. My poor turtles had to continue to be in water for a few days because we were trying to give it a chance

Doesn’t get near 78
Bought 12 days ago and it still has not gotten my 20 gallon tank to 78. The highest temp was 75 but I think that had more to do with the room temperature at that moment.
No, I do not recommend this product.

I bought a second heater to help get the water temp up in my turtle tank and am very disappointed that the temperature only averages 71 degrees instead of the 78 degree pre set high. Especially when there are 2 heaters in tank.

Love it!!
I've had this heater for 4 years and it had never let me or my turtles down..it's crazy because even after so many years if I plug it in and I add the water a few minutes later it gets so hot it smokes once I put the water on it...

Good
Management at the store sucks. Constantly calls out for dumbest reasons like over sleeping. Also had a guy employed who was purposely trying to get fired because he didn’t care. He couldn’t quit because he wanted to collect unemployment

Terrible
Absolutely terrible. I should have read the reviews but I walked Into petco and was recommended this product. Got home. Plugged it in. Not once did it turn on now matter how many times I changed the position or used a different outlet. If you’re gonna sell this crappy product for $40 at least make sure it works.

I keep my 40 gallon turtle tank outside and it’s about half way filled do you recommend using two to keep the water at the right temperature all day or will one do? Again I have my tank outside day and night 24/7

How high does the temperature go to? I'm wondering because I have a turtle, and the temperature of the water needs to be about 80 or higher.
- According to the package information, the heater is preset to 78º. When the water temperature reaches the preset, it automatically turns off. You can monitor the water temp with a thermometer. I understand they also live in lakes or ponds; without a heater?

If this has to be used in the water, will this keep our turtle habitat at the recommended 80-85 degrees, or just the water? Also, I understand that basking area should be kept around 85-90 degrees. Will I need a separate heater, or an out of water heater?

I just got a 10g tank and filled it halfway with water and put your heater in. There was red light but turned off after 5 seconds and it doesn’t do anything
- The heater is preset to 78F and should light when heating. If the temperature is not getting to 78F, please call the Zilla Technical/Warranty Team at 888-255-4527 as the heater has a one year warranty.

- The Reptile Heater cannot be used outside of water. You CANNOT use this item safely without it being submerged.

I just bought this heater and the light is not turning on. Does it have to be a certain temp for the heater to turn on?
