With the temperatures rising i'm always worried about my dog getting over heated when we are outside. This cooling vest helps keep him cool & stylish! It's reversible with one side being orange and the other side has a beach print. I have a chiweenie who is 22lbs and he fits comfortably in a size Medium. Overall the vest feels like it is made well and it's easy to put on. To use, you just soak it in cold water then wring it out and wrap it around their body pulling the straps on the side up to velcro on the back. The only downside is that it doesnt have a hole on the back to be able to easily attach their leash butItou can still make it work. I have been putting this on my dog before we go out for our afternoon walks and I can't wait to take him to the lake now in this cute beachy vest knowing that he will be will be safe in the sun. I absolutely recommend this to anyone who takes their dog outside in the hot summer months!!

I would recommend the YOULY cooling reversible warm weather dog vest as more of an apparel item than a functional one. While the vest does soak up water for evaporation, cooling your dog, it does not hold nearly as much water as other vests on the market. The evaporation of the water is what cools the dog, mimicking sweat, but this vest does not soak up enough water to really make a difference in the hot weather. After using it as directed, my dog was still visibly too warm and uncomfortable in the heat, whereas I have used other vests that have stopped his panting. I have a double coated black dog that gets very hot in the summer, so a cooling vest is important if we are going to spend significant time outside. I do not know how this would work on other dogs, but it did not work for mine. I would not recommend this vest for the cooling factor. One nice thing about it is that it does protect against UV rays, though that is less of a concern for me personally.

The vest remained cool for a longer period of time indoor compared to when the dog wore it outdoor. I did notice though that for thicker fur dogs like spaniels, it’s not as effective for completely cooling the dog down quickly.

My dog is 20 inches from neck to tail & about 30 pounds. The XL size is a little bit too big, but it's still cute. The orange side isn't as cute, but I can see how it would be useful if your dog is swimming & you want to be able to see them. The velcro closure is great. It does need to go over the dog's head, but then velcros closed. When it's on the orange side, the velcro is under the vest, so it's a little awkward. This vest seems very well made & I expect it to last a long time.
