Great carrier, but not for rodents

If used for a mouse while their cage is being cleaned, that would be all i would recommend as it's too small for any other critter. However, it makes a great enclosure for older slings (baby tarantulas), and juveniles depending on the species. I have 2 ts in these and they are thriving. The spacing in the lid is small enough to prevent escapes, but not to small to get toes caught. When older, i bump them up to the Imagitarium green lid reptile carrier which has wider lid spacing, and that great until they are big enough for a aquarium tank type enclosure.

Yes, I recommend this product.

It's a bit smaller than I pictured it but it will have to do while I clean out my mice's cage, I needed someplace safe to put them...

Convenient

The pet keeper is nice and convenient, the lid is difficult to remove. I fear the amount of force needed to remove the lid might cause it to break. The top lid also has a clear door that is also difficult to open. The little tabs that the door snaps over might be a problem. But so far it's ok. This is only being used for transportation, not everyday use.

Yes, I recommend this product.

How many crickets can the pet carrier hold

  1. Hi Ed30. Please see below: < 0.5” (2-4)- 100 0.5” (5-6) - 50 Adult (7-8)- 20 Thanks,

can I keep a couple small snails in here? my friend is giving some of theirs away and I would love some, I just need to keep them somewhere until I can get a new tank.

  1. I want to say you can? it was big enough to hold both of my ratties when they were babies so it should be pretty spacious for snails. The only thing I would check is if they could escape through the bars at the top. Other than that it should be fine.

This summer I am going on a 6 hour car ride to a beach for vacation, and will be staying there for a week or so. Is it okay to bring my dwarf hamster in this cage? I’ll bring  one of her cages for the stay.

  1. no but if you get a cheap critter trail than it would be fine cause it’s a temporary cage as long as you put it back your hamster back in it’s regular cage when you get back it should be okay but your hamster might show signs of stress

What are the dimensions, and would It be good for transporting 2 fancy mice?

  1. Hi Liv_G, The dimension is L 23.2 x W 15.24cm x H 16.8 CM. Yes, this can be used to transport 2 fancy mice. Thanks,

So, I need to take my two gerbils on a 2 day car drive. Is this carrier ok for them? Can they stay that small of an space for that long?

  1. Sorry not sure; I think it might be too small for 2 gerbils.  We used it for transporting my daughter's mouse when he needed to go to the vet.

Would a 21 inch rat 2lb fit?

  1. For anyone else with this question, the larger critter keepers sold in the reptile and fish department are better recommended for transporting large rats, or even a crittertrail style cage to give more ventilation.

Is this good for dwarf hamster ona 2-3 hour ride ?

  1. Hello, You do ask for a dwarf hamster. This should be perfect for the hamster, just don't keep him/her in for too long. If you keep him/her in for too long, she will gain a lot of stress.

I breed hamsters and i was wondering if this could be used for temporaily holding a baby or two until the owner is ready to adopt it?

  1. Hi hamsterbreeder02, We would not recommend keeping a hamster in here for longer than a couple of hours. It is meant to be a temporary holding habitat. Thanks,

Would it be ok to transfer my gerbil to the vet? 20 min car ride

  1. I think so, as long as your gerbil can’t push the door on the lid open. My hamster used it for the same purpose and it worked great.

Is the lid and handle sturdy enough to transport a beta fish in water?

  1. The handle is not. You would have to hold it by the bottom.
