Are these 1/2" sand perch covers 12" long?
- They are 7.5 inches long, for my bird cage they cover 1/2 of the perch stick.

Are these appropriate for canaries. Only have had parakeets in the past and the sand might be Too course for canary feet.
- Hi PAVAROTTI, Yes, it should be safe for canaries. The main thing to remember with sand perch covers is that these covers cannot be placed on every perch in the habitat because birds need to be able to stand on surfaces that are not abrasive as well to prevent agitation and injury to their feet. What are the best type of perches for my two year old male black capped conure?
I had a pair of zebra finches in a closed cage. I had it for 4 days. The birds are in my terrace. All night I close the cage with a bedsheet. The 5th day morning when I removed the bedsheet only one Finch was there. The cage was fully closed. But the male Finch's feathers was outside. What can eat a Finch. I also have some love birds. How can I stop predators eating my birds.

My Amazon Bandit needs a larger cage. I am hesitant to purchase a new cage as the one he has is too small. Descriptions do not indicate the spacing of the bats. Additionally there are no toys in cages to help identify which cage is best. I inherited Bandit and he throws pellets out of feed dish and doesn't seem to care for food that came with him. I've been doing research before I get my cockatiel and one topic I've seen a lot of controversy on is sanding perches. Both on whether to use one or not and where to use it. If you advised to get one where do you advise me to put it? I saw some people say use it as your feeding perch so that the bird is forced to use that and other people say leave it elsewhere and the bird will use it as they choose?
