Bought product a month ago for gerbils. Great concept, but one of the two gerbils escaped thru the top door. I contacted petco where I bought it, and was told , oh well sorry we don't carry any type of spring or lock for that. The company knows that these animals will get out. So for now, we bend a paperclip and twist it till we figure this out. Plus I think the smaller animals prefer non wire bottom for their feet. So we lay cardboard.
After telling you my situation you decide on buying this cage. I don't think 69.99 is worth it!

Got this for my hamster and he almost died when the wire cut his pouch and he aspirated on his blood. Luckily I caught it in time and he made it! Don’t recommend

Not good for fancy mice. They escape. The bars are not all even, esp at seams. I’m disappointed by this since it was advertised for mice. And it was not inexpensive. I wish it were better made for mice.

Bad cage for a hamster, it doesn't even meet the minimum floor space. They are burrowing animals not climbers.

This is a wonderful idea for hamsters and gerbils, except it’s WAY to small, the bare minimum for hamsters is 450 square inches, this would be amazing if it was for a larger tank like a 40 or 55 gallon

I have this cage and we’ve liked it but it barely fits our 9 in wheel. Is there a way to stick the wheel to the bottom of the cage so it doesn’t bang against the glass walls? I’m worried about the hamster eating any rubber gripper on bottom?
- Hi EZHam Without insight into the type of wheel we am not able to offer a specific solution, but we do not sell an adhesive for adhering the wheel to a glass tank. An exercise saucer may reduce the banging against the wall. Would a cat be able to knock the top off? I have a 14 lb cat that likes to sit on my hammy’s cage.
- Probably but not definitely. There are 2 clips and if you positioned them on the long sides rather than front and back, it might be strong enough to prevent a cat pushing it over. Depending on how persistent and/or aggressive you cat is, I would strongly recommend locating additional spring loaded clips to reinforce it remaining on top of the tank.

How high is this from bottom of tank to top of cage topper?
- Hi Trainsfido, The height of this topper is 11 ½ inches. A 10g tank is usually around 12 ½ inches tall. Your approximate height when combined is 24”. Thanks,

I have 2 questions 1. Would a dwarf hamster escape from the bars 2. If you add the space at the top and bottom, isn't it approximately 20 gallons top and bottom combined
- Hamsters need one continuous space of 450+ sq in. Even if you counted the two levels together, it’s still too small for any hamster.
