I really liked the colors and texture of this toy, and thought my two parakeets would like it. However, even though it is for small birds such as finches and parakeets, it is much larger than other toys I get for them. I waited to write this review hoping I would see them use it, but they seem to be avoiding it so far. I wonder if it they find the large size intimidating. If they end up using it my rating will change to a 5 star review since it is a great texture.

*I received this product for free from the Spotted by Petco Sampling Program in exchange for my honest review* @petco #spottedbypetco As you can see by the manufacturer's label in my first photo on this cute and colorful You & Me Preening Trio Ball Toy, it's supposed to be for "Small Birds Such As Finches and Parakeets". But, this toy is WAY too large/wide/long for such small birds especially tiny little finches, and I have birds a bit larger than that - my birds are cockatiels. When I tried to even go near their cage to place the toy, they went wild with fright flapping around and then clung onto the back end of their cage. I wouldn't continue to attempt to place this toy in the cage at all, as it really upset them. As you can see by my second photo, this toy is over 11 inches long and about 3½ inches at its widest. While I believe that much larger birds would probably love this toy, I just cannot use it for my cockatiels, and certainly not for any bird that is smaller either.

I got this for my parrots first birthday.. everything was fine.. then after a month I found GLUE CLUMPS IN THE TOY.

I'm hesitant to give this product 3 stars but I'll explain. I would give it 2 stars for small birds and 4 for large birds. It's way too big for parakeets (I have budgies). They're terrified of it and wouldn't go near it so I ended up removing it from the cage. I chose it since it was colorful and unique. They didn't have any toys like it already as far as being intended for preening. I guess it's meant for birds to scratch themselves on maybe. I'm not really sure. It seems like it could be good for that since it's course. It would also be good for enrichment if your birds like to shred stuff. As I mentioned, it's large, so it would be great for larger parrots. It's a nice looking, sturdy toy. Definitely good quality.

Product is bright and colorful, looks great in the cage. Made of good quality. She seemed to like the materials. Lasted about a week, could last longer depending on the activity level of your pet. It kept her interested and entertained.

I was a little hesitant trying this preening toy for my cockatiel as he is very slow to warm up to new toys. I also thought the balls might have been too big for him. I attached it to the outside if his cage at first and within a few minutes he came over to invedtigate and chew at it. The next morning i placed it in the corner if his cage and he immediately came over to it, rubbing his head and beak on it. It has been his go to toy since it had been in there. He loves to rub his head on the material and also uses it to clean his beak after eating. It is very bright and colorful and the corn leaf pom poms are perfect for keeping feathers clean. It attaches easily to cage in many different spots. I highly recommend!

Very nice and colorful. Put it in my bird cage when I got it and my parakeets didn’t know what it was but soon after they started picking on it. They love it as they as always looking at picking at things!
