Didn't work for me

It was hard to fit in between the wire of the cage and the metal clip wouldn't hold it tight, it kept slipping out.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Metal clip

Like that it's glass; only wish the clip attaching to cage was NOT metal (scratches paint on cage wires) but was redesigned to be plastic.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Too small for my budgie's beak to fit

The issue I've run into with this water silo is the fact that it doesn't fill the trough to a higher level when the bird starts going through half of it. This has lead to my budgie trying to stick her beak and tongue in for water to the point where she's given up trying to drink water from it. This is better designed for birds with narrow beaks than anything.

No, I do not recommend this product.

No more changing water!

It’s a simple construction, keeps water clean. Easy to attach to the cage. I have two in my “huge” cage for two budgies. I place water cup sometimes as well, but they manage to make it dirty within one hour somehow. The tubes on other hand stay absolutely clean for day or two, also because I place them higher. Would definitely recommend to anyone who has small birds.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Was very easy to get on the cage. I like that it’s glass and it can be washed in hot water to sanitize. Would recommend this item for sure

Questions

Will this fit horizontal bars?

  1. Yes. Fits either horizontal or vertical bars. Clamp is adjustable so will work on all sides of most cages with bar spacing 1/2" or greater.

About how many ounces for water does this hold?

  1. Maybe 4-6 ounces

Will this fit wire cages with VERTICAL bars? I bought several and cannot get them to attach for the life of me. It seems they were designed for cages with horizontal bars maybe?

  1. Hi KaylaP89, Yes, this item will attach to cages with vertical bars. Please see instructions below: 1. Locate a safe place to mount silo inside of habitat. 2. Rotate clip 90 degrees to fit through wires. 3. Rotate clip back to closed position to secure. 4. Check to make sure silo is stable and does not move, as this could cause injury to your bird. Thanks,
