This cage is way to small for a hamster or mice or anything. Your hamster can not run around in that cage there is not enough floor space i used a cage like this once for my hamster and she never moved around and was always unhappy until i put her into a 20 gallon long tank she was always exploring and active she loved the space and with more space you can put more enrichment toys which is awesome for hamsters and gerbils and mice.

I wouldn't purchase this for anything else but as a travel carrier. This is way too small for a hamster. Bought it just to see it for myself.

This is total garbage. I don't know why they even sell these. It is way to small, a hamster or mouse needs an bare minumum of 450 sqaure inches, this is nothing of that. They can easily chew through the cheap plastic bars and escape. Please do your research before getting a pet.

This is a awful cage for a hamster this is not a cage for any animal this cage can stress the hamster and cause sicknesses and death there is no room for bedding you need at least 6in of bedding. not even the smallest hamster or other animals can live in that thing please don't buy this if you care about your animal. Your hamster should have at least a 450sq in cage. If you can't get this your hamster 450sq in cage then you shouldn't get one.

No, I do not recommend this product.

The cage is WAY too small. A hamster needs the bare minimum of 450 square inches which this cage doesn’t provide. The wheel is too small while dwarfs need the smallest of 6 inches for the wheel and bigger hamsters like Syrians need 8-12 inches. The tray is too shallow and doesn’t hold enough bedding because there should be an area with at least 6 inches of bedding. There isn’t enough room for a sand bath, multiple hides, and lots of toys. There isn’t much room for your hamster to run around and play at all. The cage is very flimsy and hard to clean and the tubes are way too small. The door opening is really small so it’s hard to pick up your hamster. The cage causes hamsters to be very aggressive and have anxiety. Hamsters chew on the metal bars out of stress and chip their teeth. ANY CAGES LIKE TINY TALES, KAYTEE AND ALL THESE BRANDS ARE HORRIBLE AND WILL KILL YOUR HAMSTER DO NOT BUY!

No, I do not recommend this product.

Will two mice be happy in here?

  1. No. Not at all. The minimum (in my experience) for two mice is 300 square inches. Every time you get a mouse, add 150 square inches to your area.

Can this fit dwarf hamsters for a full time cage?

  1. No this is barley big enough for a travel cage. A 40 gallon or a 450sq in cage.

Two things! First can someone explain this to me ? And is this good for a 3 month old Chinese dwarf ?

  1. No the minimum for a hamster now in 2020 is 450 SQ inches of floor space. And there is no such thing as a chinese dwarf.

Teddy bear hamsters?

  1. You will need a cage with over 648 square inches of interior floorspace (based on the stress behaviors of Syrian hamsters kept in well-enriched cages of that size), enough room for up to 10" deep bedding, and a wheel with a diameter between 10" and a foot (most adult Syrians do best in an 11" wheel). I recommend a 75 Gallon Tank (848 square inches of floorspace, 21" of height), because there is not a single barred/plastic cage currently sold in the US that would accommodate a Syrian hamster.

can big hamsters fit in this cage

  1. This product might work as a travel cage for a dwarf hamster, but the tubes are too small for a Syrian hamster. If you're looking for a cage to keep your hamster in for longer than a day, I would look at large aquariums/terrariums. (Preferably something with room for 10" deep bedding and over 600 square inches of interior floorspace. A 75 Gallon tank would work handily for that!) Unfortunately, pet companies in the US can still make money selling dangerously small cages to uninformed consumers (mainly children): so the burden is on the consumer to do their own research to avoid accidentally abusing/neglecting their new pet.

Can it hold gerbils?

  1. no. It's small.

How many mice can fit in this cage?

  1. Take this from a mom of 12 mice: NO mice can live in this "habitat"! Mice are very energetic and need constant stimulation, and this cage doesn't provide that, not in the least. If you could connect at least three of these together, you could house one male or up to four females. I would recommend a tank larger than 10 gallons for mice, or you can mesh over the wires of practically any cage (how my mice got a ferret nation LOL)! Good luck!
