This cage type is horrible for all small animals, it’s flimsy and has such a shallow base it’s impossible to clean and a huge waste of money, do not reccomend

Not suitable for any hamsters

Not suitable for hamsters. Especially those who are looking at it for their Syrians or anything bigger than a dwarf. It’s fine for dwarfs but hardly. Hamsters need more floor space and prefer room to run around rather than crawl up and down tubes. Might even be hazardous if they fall because the cage is so tall.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Can you connect this to other habits for more space?

  1. A dwarf hamster (in fact any hamster) would need at least 450 square inches of unbroken/continuous floorspace in its habitat both so that it can have room for basic necessities (an exercise wheel between 6.5 and 8 inches in diameter, a couple hide-huts, a variety of wooden chews, a dish/bath of non-dusty sand to keep its fur clean with, etc). This cage does not provide that. It also does not provide a deep enough base for the up to 6" deep bedding a dwarf would need to be able to engage in natural burrowing behaviors. A cheaper and safer alternative to this cage would be a large plastic storage bin (at least 450 square inches of interior floorspace and 12"+ of height), as not only would it provide an all-around better environment for your pet: it would also be far safer and harder to escape. The Alaska cage is a good one for any breed of hamster and meets the minimum sizing of 80cm by 50cm.

Are these good for hedgehogs?

  1. No these aren’t good for hedgehogs cause hedgehogs are runners so they need floor space. Plus the tube are to small, and since hedgehogs can’t see well they can fall off the levels.

Is this cage big enough for a winter white hamster?
