Dangerous, can be a choking hazard

MeowieKitties

I bought two of these carriers for my cats when moving from CA to HI. (I know the product listing states it is for dogs but you need a carrier that is TSA approved for planes and soft carriers fit under seats in flight) They were fine for that flight as they were sedated. Today was the first time I have used it again since the flight to island in 2022. I took my cat to the vet and she was stressed on the way home in the car. She was somehow able to push her head through the small opening between the zipper closures on the side and got stuck. I thought she was fighting to get out and was on a strip of road with no where to pull over. I noticed she stopped fighting and her tongue was protruding from her mouth. I pulled over in an unsafe area and unzipped the carrier to find she was choking between the clasps that close the side zippers and the top of the carrier. I let her out and she started wheezing. I got her back in the carrier but she stopped moving which made me concerned something was wrong. Ended up taking her out of the carrier and holding her on my lap for the remainder of my drive because I was concerned she had damaged her trachea. I would not recommend this bag, it is not safe especially if your animal is smaller. It is dangerous. I will not be using this product again and have ordered new carriers for my pets.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Thank you for your review and we're so sorry to hear that this happened with your carrier. As you noted, we do not advise using our products with cats, nor do we test our products with our feline friends. At this time we do not design products with cats in mind as they have different needs than the average dog. As cats have a natural instinct to seek out small, enclosed spaces and like to fit through tight areas they can get out of a carrier if they try hard enough. We're so sorry that you went through this and appreciate the feedback. We do hope that your cat is okay!<!--[if ReviewResponse]><![endif]-->

Horrible - Far too easy to escape

I bought for my 10 pound dog that is very anxious/high strung. She escapes within seconds by forcing the side zippers apart with her face. The last time I used it, she escaped even though I was holding the zippers closed with my hand, and she was loose on a busy street for 5-10 minutes. This product utterly fails to serve its primary purpose.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Hello and thank you for your feedback! We recommend using the clip strap on the inside of the bag to help keep everyone in their place. Since it's a TSA-approved Carrier, it will still be possible to open the zipper as that's intended to be able to get pups out to go through security.<!--[if ReviewResponse]><![endif]-->

Not a good buy.

Tried with both of my cats. Hard to get them into the carrier and easy for them to escape. Extremely expensive.

Worst carrier ever!

Wild one no bueno

Carrier not worth 1/4 of the cost, so badly made. Zippers don’t work properly and loose threading. Wild One products are a waste of $$

Not as great as I hoped it would be

I wanted to love the Wild One pet carrier, aesthetically it looks so well designed. Unfortunately, in use, it’s just not as great as I wanted it to be. My dog is 11 lbs and I used this carrier for the first time on an international trip just 3 weeks ago. Using this pet carrier while connected to / on top of my suitcase before checking luggage was fine. Problems arose when using the pet carrier independently of other luggage. Due to the zipper along the top of the carrier, the shoulder strap is attached off center which tipped my dog either into or away from my body while carrying him. It would have been a lot easier if the strap kept the carrier centered so my dog didn’t easily sway / tip back and forth with every step. I live in a small apartment so I really liked that the carrier was collapsible for storage but it was also easily collapsible with my dog in it while traveling. The side zippers that hold the shape of the carrier easily unzipped and my dog nearly slid out on to the floor at the airport. The snap on the end of the zipper pull is just not enough to secure the zipper from unzipping, a carabiner or ring through the zipper pull may be more effective. This was point where I knew I had to write a review – I purchased this carrier to give me peace of mind that my beloved dog was contained and safe for travel but an unzipping compartment that my dog very nearly slid right out of is not easier nor safer. After TSA I ended up carrying my dog, carrying the pet carrier and carrying my carry on – my confidence that my dog was safe in the Wild One pet carrier was gone. Upon return from my trip I left the carrier with a luggage repair service to get some feedback about fixes to make this carrier safe and secure for my dog. I’ll see what they say and what is feasible to make the carrier workable and safe

No, I do not recommend this product.
