He likes... no loves... the salmon paté!

My senior cat has become quite a picky eater. Won't eat flaked cat food. Only paté. Gave the WholeHearted senior wet cat food a try and I've been very pleased with the result. The box arrived two days earlier than quoted, which was great. So far so good and I'm glad I discovered Petco.com.

Watery, inconsistent mess

Half the weight is water, and it's a soft, mushy mess that isn't satisfying to feed my cats or for my cats to eat. I feel like I have to give them twice as much for them to stop meowing. Also total inconsistency between cans.

Dents in WholeHearted Salmon Senior Wet Food cans

This case, the WholeHearted Grain Free Salmon Senior Wet Cat Food Pate, 5.5 oz. Case of 24, delivered separately a few days later from the first case of the WholeHearted Grain Free Chicken and Beef Liver Senior Wet Cat Food Pate, 5.5 oz. Case of 24, was in a smaller box w/no protection to the cans, resulting in pretty much every can having at least 1 dent in it. The Chicken and Beef Liver was in a slightly larger box w/protection & had no dents. I don't understand why you would ship canned food w/no protection at all.

My cats both had been on dry as well as moist WholeEarth Farms Grain free food. Since Petco stopped selling it I've tried so many other brands, including this one, and it's just not well received AT ALL! I'm tempted now to just try ordering it via mail, through Chewy purhaps

Great pate for my older, large cat

Luckily I found this food for my fussy cat. He only likes pate style, salmon flavor wet cat food. He's 12 so I opted for the senior 7+ food. He seems to do well on it, eating almost a whole can a day. Glad I found this and I'm able to buy a case at a time. He's a happy kitty.

All my cats like all the different Wholehearted dry and wet food. I have been feeding them this brand exclusively for many years. My cats eat heartily every day, they are all happy and in good health! And that makes me very happy, indeed!

    Is the .399% phosphorous a dry matter analysis (DMA) percentage or per-can (including moisture)? It's a very low DMA value (prescription therapeutic kidney food is roughly that low too.) Also, what makes this "Senior" cat food?
