My kitties love the Whole Hearted Flavorful Flakes! I'm not set on providing only grain free foods for my animals, but I really feel that since grains aren't naturally a part of their diet and kittens require more protein, grains shouldn't be introduced until they are older. The first ingredients in this food are meat and meat broth followed by the fats and other nutrients they need while they are young. The cans are smaller which I prefer so that they don't run the risk of going bad before they can be used and nothing goes to waste. Another thing that I really liked is that it has a lot of liquid making it more like a thick soup consistency. It took a while for my kittens to learn how to drink water. The consistency helped them learn how to use their tongue to lap up their food instead of taking large bites and gave them enough hydration so there wasn't much risk of them becoming constipated while transitiong to solid food. Before trying this food, I had to add water to the other brand of kitten food I was using because of that issue. I really recommend the Whole Hearted Flakes for kittens. It's everything they need and and all you have have to do is open the can!

Not a favorite food for my group. They only seem to like it when I dress it up with freeze dried meat. Though, they are picky, so I can’t really fault the food. The tuna is their least favorite, and I can’t say that I blame them. The pieces look tough and overcooked.
