I'm about to buy more of this for my latest litter of rescue kittens. This is packed with meat. I do add some a few tablespoons of very hot water to moisten it and increase the smell of the food. Yes, it's less moist than some other brands. That's great as it means there's more meat and I'm not paying for added water, fake flavor powder & starches to make "gravy" or the meat more moist. Who wants to pay for that or feed it to kittens when plain poultry is best for sensitive tummies, be they kitten or adult. When I've given the Wholehearted kitten or adult pates to adult cats, I find mixing it with a can of the same brand's Flavorful Flakes or Minced varieties makes a moist mix!

I gave this to my sweet baby boy. I couldn’t get it dished out quick enough. He devoured it all. I’d definitely say a big hit! I’d like to try all the flavors and varieties. But chicken is a top contender.

October 9 and October 29, 2023 I've been buying the Petco brand Wholehearted canned cat food, mainly the chicken pate but occasionally buy chicken and tuna, turkey, tuna and salmon. I usually order from the Petco website and have the cases shipped to my home, but sometimes I need them sooner so I pick up at the store if in stock. The reason I've been getting this brand of cat food is because it's not too expensive and the ingredients don't appear to be as bad as the cheaper brands that are loaded with carbs and bad ingredients. I haven't had a problem feeding this to the homeless outdoor cats I care for, I mixed it with the cheaper, poorer quality Friskies, except for the last 2 purchases. My order from October 9, for chicken pate I noticed a dark spot or 2 in the food of a couple of the cans, which I scooped out. Though it concerned me, the food didn't smell spoiled, so I used it and feed it to the cats. Several days last week, I notice a couple of the cats acting strange, disinterested in eating and wanting to sleep all the time. I thought it might be due to the colder weather. The order from October 29 the very first 4 cans I opened all had multiple dark spot, that upon closer inspection, appear to be dark bluish mold. I was shocked and mortified that the cats have been eating this moldy food, and that Petco is selling Wholehearted cat food with mold. I don't understand why this food with an expiration date of 26 October 2025 has mold. I froze the opened cans because it'll be a few days before I can make the trip to the store to return the 2 cases to get a refund. Now I'm scared to buy more of this food, which is a shame since the other comparable cat foods are more expensive.

My kitten loves this however I knocked it down 1 star because frequently when I buy these in store they are moldy inside. When I get them delivered they're totally fine though but usually at least 1/3 of the time from the store individual cans have black mold growing in them. I don't know if it's NY stores (I have tried 2 stores already) or what but not sure what's going on with the cans sold in stores. However my kitten goes crazy and licks her bowl clean so I will continue to order online in bulk.

I bought this just last week and I've been giving my kittens wet food since I adopted them at 9 weeks old and never in my entire cat mom life have I ever smelled such putrid feces come out of my two cats. I'm talking about you can smell their poop from a whole different room in the house. I've changed their litter 3 times this week alone thinking that it was a bad litter bag we got or something but then I put 2 and 2 together and the only new thing we have introduced to their lifestyle was this food. Will be going back to our Wellness Complete Health Chicken formula. Save your money.

First ingredient is a named protein (chicken) which is the minimum I look for in a wet food for my cats. The WholeHearted brand has some foods that probably have better ingredients but this one for kittens is not shabby. Unfortunately my cat did not like this food but she is notoriously picky so I would not fault the food. Overall an affordable decent quality food for those with kittens.

We have a kitten that is very particular with her food even canned cat food. She loved this cat food and goes crazy for it. She likes the pate style, which this is. She also liked the flavor combo. I was surprised at how much she loved it and as soon as she saw the can, she came running. My older cats also liked it when they tried to get her food🤗
