Questions
On a dry matter basis, what is the percentage of iodine in this senior chicken food please? My 14 year old cat is being treated for hyperthyroidism and I try to stay within a certain range of iodine in her food, thank you.
Why is carrageenan used when guar gum is already included in this product and there are other alternatives anyway? I do my best to avoid carrageenan in cat (and human) food, my senior cat likes this food.
For Wholehearted's canned cat food all life stages grain free chicken and liver pate, what are the dry matter percentages for phosphorous, protein, sodium, fat and carbohydrates?
- You need to contact the food manufacturer for this information. They may have posted it on their website. If You have a Senior cat with potential kidney disease, I recommend the website www.felinecrf.org. Tanya’s comprehensive guide to feline chronic kidney disease. Excellent resource for elderly cats and guide to foods for kidney health. Has lots of data on over-the-counter cat food with dry matter percentages

Why doesn't Petco reveal the dry matter analysis of their in-house line of Wholeheated canned cat foods? My cats love Wholehearted the few times they had it but I will not make a permanent switch until Petco provides DMA details. Why the secrecy?
- No offense, but they probably don't reveal it because most people don't really care. According to the Internet (and everything on the Internet is true - ha ha): "The typical percentage moisture range for wet cat food is 75 to 78" (which is a pretty tight range in my opinion). "Subtract that from 100 then divide the nutrient percentage on the label that you are interested in by the percent dry matter for the food (22 to 25) and multiply by 100. The resulting number is the nutrient percentage on a dry matter basis." And you might want to ease up on yourself a bit. Cat's are pretty good at knowing what to eat and what to walk away from. At least mine is. Next time I'm getting a hamster. :)

What is the Phosphorus content, Dry Matter analysis of the Wholehearted Pleasing Pate Salmon?
Why is this brand no longer available? My cat love it and I haven't been able to find it in a few months.
- Try contacting the manufacturer. This issue may be beyond Petco's control.

Why is this food sooooo difficult to find when you are the manufacturer ? It’s the only wet food my cat will eat .. no other flavor no other form .. I have 1 can left !
- Because of the lower price, people who own multiple cats (and even people who feed strays) buy this brand in high quantities. On top of that, the chicken pate must be a feline favorite. Our cat won't eat any of the other flavors or forms that oddly always seem to be in stock. Just FYI she will eat the chicken pate from the other brands like Blue Wilderness (but they cost twice as much). If you are willing and able, try ordering it online through Petco's website or App. There was a period during the earlier part of the pandemic when my auto-repeat orders were getting cancelled due to a lack of inventory, but for the last 6 months or so the orders have been coming through, and they come right to my door. I would prefer to be able to pre-order it and pick it up in-store since there is a hefty extra charge for shipping, but sadly Petco doesn't offer that service here (in Hawaii). Hey thanks for answering the question in my head as to why no other Pet Supply companies carry Whole Hearted. I didn't know it was a Petco brand.
