How much carbs on a dry matter basis?

  1. Hi Lala, Good day! Carbohydrates DM is 9.43%. Thanks

What is the phosphorus on a dry matter basis? I

  1. Hi Laramaria, Good day! Dry matter: Phosphorus: 1.14% Thanks,

what is the difference between this and the canned food of same brand?

  1. The pouch version seems to have more “soup” in it than the canned version.  One of our cats liked the pouch version, but by far her favorite was the grain-free version of WholeHearted Chicken, a limited ingredient diet version, which is sold at PETCO in small plastic tubs.  This version had quite a lot of broth, which she loved.  She was old and had a bad heart condition, but she thrived nevertheless for an unexpected length of time on this food. So we highly recommend it.  The texture of the tub version is small chunks in gravy.  If your cat likes this texture and likes chicken, it will work out.  I say this because our other cat,  a litter mate, will eat only pate textured food, and so this did not work for her.  But the grain-free tubs were an absolute Godsend for one of our cats!  Hope this helps!

- What is the the percentage of calories that come from (1) protein, (2) fat, and (3) carbohydrates? (Also known as the “metabolizable energy (ME) profile.) - How many milligrams of phosphorus are in the food per 100 kcal?

  1. Hi Horatio Hornblower, Here are the details. Caloric breakdown = Protein 41% of calories; Fat 54% of calories; carbohydrates 5 % of calories. Thanks

Do I need to keep these in the refrigerator? What temperature do I need to keep them at so that they will last and not go bad?

  1. No need to refrigerate them. Room temperature

What is the phosphorus and sodium levels, "as fed"? thx

How many calories does this food have, and where is it made? I believe this is one of your private labels. But I like to know where the ingredients in my cats' food come from and where it's made.

    1. Hi mmzz, The product is made in the USA. Here are the calories content. 805 kcal/kg, 64 kcal/pouch Thanks

I have a cat with urinary tract problems calcium, magnesium and zinc affect her in big quantities. How much of these does this food have? Would you not recommend it for a cat with urinary tract problems?

    1. Hi k1108, Please see below, we recommend that you contact your vet regarding your pet's UTI, Calcium (%) 0.231 Magnesium (%) 0.02 Zinc (ppm) 56.146 Thanks,

Can you explain why this food contains such a long list of chemical ingredients? Are they all nutritionally needed? Please elaborate. I am wary of feeding a food with so many chemicals.

    1. Hi DonnaUettwiller, All of the chemical names are just vitamins and minerals and these are required for the food to be complete and balanced. Thanks.
