I have tried a new food and my cat likes it. It is 'tuna in jelly', from Whiskas. One pouch of 85g, he eats almost all of it (leaves a little bit of it uneaten). I brought my cat (4 YO black American short hair) to the vet a few months ago after she was scooting frequently and her glands were released. Am I overfeeding my kitten? I rescued a stray kitten about 3 weeks ago. He is currently 17 weeks old. He eats Wholehearted canned food (grain-free, chicken or chicken and tuna). He can typically eat 2 (5 oz) cans and 1 (3oz) can broken up throughout the day. Today, he ate the (5oz) can for meal 1, then a 3 oz can 30 min later, and has eaten another 2 (3oz) cans and it is only 7pm. He weighs 4 pounds. He seems healthy just seems to eat WAY more than all the websites suggest.
Hi there. I was thinking about switching my cat to a better quality food. I know the first at least 3 ingredients should be chicken, chicken meal etc vs corn or grains. My cat is 20lbs. Vet told me he should be 16lbs & be on a low fat diet. I don't think his purina pro plan weight mgmt is helping anymore. Fat is 12.5% max in that food. But other foods have more fat. I wonder if a grain free diet would help keep him full longer? How many calories/cups a day he should eat? Worried about weightgain
