Lucy likes this food better than another brand of wet food, a pate, that i gave her. She likes the extra liquid and often licks up the liquid while leaving some solid pieces in her bowl. The food provides her with plenty of liquid. She drinks less water than she did eating the other food.

Yes, I recommend this product.

I buy this wet cat food all the time now. Found out another brand was making both my cats sick. I used this in the past and when covid hit I cheated out and bought another brand. After a couple of years it caught up to my fur babies. I will never cheap out on them again. This brand keeps them happy and healthy

Mostly gravy. But has nutritious liver.

Chicken and liver is MOSTLY liquid, with very little actual food. I bought these to feed to our cat colony because the ingredients were not horrendous like most wet food brands. And the price for a decent, grain free wet food is decent with this brand. BUT... this flavor is mostly gravy so I mix it with the Chicken Flakes flavor. This was my hack for getting my cat colony to at least have more hydration AND actual food to eat. Otherwise this flavor would be a colossal waste of money for a can of gravy. I also loved that it included liver. My personal, indoor only cat (adopted from the colony) gets Tiki After Dark for the organ meat in it. Just too costly to feed Tiki to an entire colony. So this Wholehearted brand is great. Just be advised that this one is mostly gravy and best used as maybe a "pour over" for other Chicken or turkey flavors.

What is the phosphorus content on a dry matter basis? How many mg per 1000 kcal?

  1. Though I suppose there may be phosphorus in this, there's nothing on the label that mentions phosphorus so it's a little hard to do the math with no figures.

For Liver and Chicken Flakes, what is the dry matter percentages for phosphorous, protein, sodium, fat and carbs.

  1. if it's not on the can ingredients, etc, I don't know.

What is the phosphorus percentage on dry matter basis for WholeHearted Grain-Free Chicken & Liver Recipe Flakes in Gravy Wet Cat Food?

Does the chicken and liver flavor flakes contains tuna or tuna oil in it?

    1. Hello. Neither of those is listed as an ingredient on the can and there is no "fishy" odor that I can detect when feeding my cats.

Are the cans recyclable? What type of metal are they made from?

    1. Great question! Most Wholehearted brand cans are made from steel, a few kinds are made from aluminum. I tried take them to our local recycling center but was told label has to have CRV (California Refund Value) printed on in order for them to accept them for a refund however I place them in our regular residential recycling bin (provided by the city) believing they are being recycled. Steel is recyclable but whether that is actually being recycled or not is another question. Hope they really are.

Are the "flakes" bigger or smaller bits than the "morsels" ?

    1. Hi suz815, Flakes will be considerably smaller than morsels. Minced is the smallest. Thanks,
