Dear Experts, We are from The Hockaday School and are working to make an original dog food with only natural ingredients. We were wondering if our idea is successful and original. We would appreciate it if you looked at our recipe and could help us alter or work on it. Recipe: • Pork = 40 grams • Chicken = 40 grams • Salmon = 40 grams • Peanuts = 10 grams • Sunflower seeds = 10 grams • Basil = 10 grams • Rosemary = 10 grams • Oregano = 10 grams • Sweet potatoes = 20 grams • Carrots = 20 grams
Would you recommend to give beef jerky (homemade with only one ingredient: meat. No salt, no spices.) to puppies and dogs as treats?
I have decided to prepare Nala's food at home as opposed to store bought dog food. What would I need to add to a recipe containing following: Beef Liver 3lbs Lamb Hearts 2lbs Beef Tripe 1lb Ground Chicken 5 lbs Water - as need to incorporate beef stew bones 3lbs Brussel Sprouts .5 lb Butternut Squash 1lb Pink Himalayan Salt- 1 tbl I did cook all of this, although I know that raw is better, and then ground it all together.
im cooking home made diet i need to know how many oz of cooked chicken breast to feed (i will be adding veggies and a multi vitamin is there any multi vitamin you recomend) and will add in chicken heart iv all ready tried diffrent brands of dry dog food leaving it out for days and starving her she just wont eat or canned she wont eat canned too
I want to get this canned food for my dog as a topper to her dry food. It has shredded chicken along with whole white beans, peas and potatoes. Will she be able to digest this ok because the beans, peas and potatoes are not ground into a pate texture? she's on the dry version of this currently. I also ditched the twelve calorie treats and purchased the smaller 2 calorie treats and I'm only giving her three of those per day. Her total intake of extras is now less than 10% of her diet. :-)
This is Kyro, my 1st dog I've had for 7 months. In 7 months he went from 75lbs to 85. Was feeding 2 cups twice daily of "Diamond All Natural Beef Meal & Rice" with piece of Roast Beef with a teaspoon of some kind of gravy & 1 Milkbone, 1 bully stick, 2 Grain fee treats daily. I cut back to 1 cup with Roast beef twice daily. I don't want to starve him but I want to keep his defined stomach. He won't eat unless the Roast beef & gravy is in his food. Bag of food says 4 cups daily. Any suggestions?
Are milkbones junk? I called the company and they said meat and bone meal is beef and pork only. Please explain, thanks!
I am trying to find a healthy , natural dog food for my dog , he is a 75lb coon dog , he's been on blue buffalo for some time now, he eats very little of it every day , I recently have been looking into other good dig foods , my friend feeds her dog Bill Jac dog food , she gave me some to try and my dog seemed to love it , but I was reading the ingredients and it states that they use 5kbs of chicken to make a 6lb bag , but it also says that they only use the chickens organs for it ! Is this a he
what is the best brand of dog food for a 10 month old medium sized dog
Is Canine Carry Outs safe to feed my dog as training treats? Does it have any harmful ingredients that I should steer clear of?
Thank you Andrea for answering my question! I also feed my dog Fromm four star canned food which has whole vegetables, beans and potatoes. The canned food is about 30-35% of her diet. Do I need to be mashing the whole plant matter with a fork to insure she's digesting it or will this not make any difference? Is a pate canned food more easily absorbed? is 10-15% of the diet being extras ok, or is less better? What do you recommend feeding as treats?
Hello! I require advice when it comes to feeding my new cane corso puppy, 10 weeks old, 10.5 kg weight. The breeder told me to feed him raw ground up meat but in that mix I found small bones that could perforate the stomach. I would like to buy meat and ground it but I need to know which meat is best and if I should cook it or not. Thank you in advance!
