our Addie cannot tolerate fats. We almost lost her twice before she was properly diagnosed. we’ve searched for a good small breed food for her and theWhole Hearted brand has been a God send. She loves it and has been healthy and a wonderful little girl since switching.

When I rescued my dog (Jack) the lady brought him to my house along with a 14lb bag of Whole Hearted Adult Small Breed Hackensack & Brown Rice recipe. Jack seems to love it so I have continued to feed it to him for the last 3 years.

My little dogs love their food. My 14 yr old Maltese gets along great with the wet food. He only has a few teeth and he also has a heart condition. Whole hearted dog food does not upset his stomach. I have never had any complaints with it!

Yes, I recommend this product.

I have two senior small breed dogs who do not have teeth and can't digest this properly even with putting the toppers on. It has become too expensive and not having our fur babies eat the food that I have have resigned myself to making them my homemade SOFT dog food.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Small breed , I did not see what is consider small. Wondering if I need small or just by reg adult. Have a 15lb 1yr old berniedoodle

  1. Hi Railee, Good day! We advise consulting your vet on any pet specific questions, but this product has smaller kibble sizes suitable for smaller dogs (typically under 25 lbs but our feeding guide goes up to 40 lbs). The feeding guide shoes how much to feed an adult (between 10 lb and 20 lb). You can also try the all breeds and all life stages product: https://www.petco.com/shop/en/petcostore/product/wholehearted-all-life-stages-chicken-and-rice-recipe-dry-dog-food-45-lbs-3001041 Thanks

Did the recipe for this (Whole Hearted Small Breed Chicken & Brown Rice with Whole Grains) change? I went to the store to buy some, & the bag had sorghum listed as an ingredient, which wasn't in it before (& isn't listed here on your webpage ingredients).

  1. Hi MinniePinnie, We replaced millet with sorghum. It's a nutritious alternative to millet which was experiencing supply shortages. Thanks,

how much salt is in this food and can you recommend a low sodium food for my heart patient dog? Thanks.

  1. Hi RoxiGale, Please see below, for the sodium content. We suggest that you contact your vet regarding this. • Energy Basis: .09 g/100kcal • As fed: 0.30% • Dry Matter: 0.33% Thanks,
