Chicken added, no warning!

Bigfoot

Chicken added recipe change means my cats hate it now. I only noticed the change because they barely ate half a can together. On top of that, my older cat is allergic to chicken and he loved the old recipe. It's really rude and inconsiderate to change a recipe and not have a sticker or something to tell people that it's changed. Shows that the company doesn't care about their consumers and pet safety. Makes me question how frequently they will change ingredients without letting consumers know- beware!

We're sorry to hear your cats no longer like our CORE Turkey & Duck recipe. In an effort to maintain the standard of AAFCO requirements we abide by, we needed to adjust this recipe by slightly updating the order of ingredients and also adding chicken as a new ingredient to maintain the AAFCO Vitamin A range. We would be happy to review this with you. Please reach out to our Consumer Care team and refer to case# 866910. We're available at 800-225-0904 M-F | 8-5 ET or email care@wellnesspet.com.

We placed a order at the store for cat food to be delivered to our home We were informed that the order was canceled but no one from the store or your call in line operator could tell us if our credit card was refunded We should have been reassured that the refund was applied immediately Now we’re waiting for our credit card bill

New formula contains chicken!

Stephanie

I was so excited to finally find a food that my cat with Ibd loves and is without fish and chicken because he is allergic. I went and bought a bunch of them at petsmart and gave one to my cat as soon as I got home. A little while later he threw up everywhere and I was really concerned. Come to find out the old cans don’t contain chicken but the new ones do. The ones that I bought were mixed with old and new cans and of course the one I have him had chicken in it. Now I have to go return them all and be on the hunt again. PLEASE take the chicken back out!!! There aren’t many foods out there for the kitties with Ibd and allergies, can we please just have ONE option without fish and chicken?!

Hi Stephanie, we're sorry to hear your cat was not able to tolerate our CORE Turkey & Duck recipe and we appreciate your feedback. We did have to recently adjust this recipe to abide by new AAFCO requirements. We would be happy to review these changes with you. For a chicken and fish free recipe we would suggest our Complete Health Morsels Turkey Dinner or our CORE 95% Turkey Pate. Please reach out to our Consumer Care team with any questions and refer to case# 854166. We’re available at 800-225-0904 M-F | 8-5 ET, or email care@wellnesspet.com. We hope to talk with you soon!

Was good before Chicken added to recipe

One of my cats may be allergic to chicken, so when I first read the ingredients on this food I was grateful to see there was no chicken in it. And my cats really liked it! One day I opened a can and my cats weren't as interested, so I read the ingredients again, and lo and behold, that can listed chicken in it! Next time I went to the store I looked at them again and there were some with chicken and some without. I can't buy this anymore now, plus none of my cats want to eat the recipe with chicken.

Inconsistent quality

Jack2332

This cat food was my cats' favorite. The texture USED to be very smooth. In the past 2 years, the quality has fluctuated so much that I don't know if I should restock this regularly anymore. I've had 2 cases that the cats refused to eat, which led me to taste test and find out that it was ridiculously salty. For the recent case, the texture is very hard and dense, not soft and smooth, similar to cold, hardened meatloaf. Maybe it's the current supply/economic situation, or maybe Wellness just lacks quality control. Whatever it may be, my cats and I are starting to look for other options.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Wellness Core Turkey&Duck pate

Jack3883

This is a fairly smooth pate that my cats generally like. The ingredients are good, and it's high in protein. I took away one star for lack of consistency: sometimes the food is much saltier than other batches and the texture fluctuates from smooth to granular. Overall, it's a good choice.

Cat won't eat anything else

ILoveUBell

Saw some of the write-ups on here regarding the Turkey and Duck canned Wellness Cat food. I do agree that some of the consistency varies but when you find one you like, look at the Best By date and if you get that same date on the can, bet your cat will eat it. I purchased 2 years worth of 30 Apr 22 because that is the only one my cat would eat. Now that she has eaten all of that up I had to find one she would eat. I was frantic, but to my surprise, she is eating many of the Best by dates. I also heat up water to put in her food. I first put her food in a glass dish then cover it and put it in a bowl. Then I pour water on it almost to the top of the covered bowl that is about 2 inches high. Wait a bit then put it on a flat glass plate and pour a bit more hot water on it. Good luck. My cat is 14 years old and just had the best ever blood work up. I trust this food more than I trust any of the other cat foods. I gave her a few others years ago like Harmony made by a vet in TN, but he stopped making it. I also gave her Hello, I'm a party Animal soft cat food. She ate that till they changed the food and added something in it that made it look reddish. I also gave her another one that she ate until they changed the inside of the can. It was a silver color and then they changed it to white. She wouldn't touch it. Good luck to all of you and I sure hope they never stop making the turkey and Duck Wellness Classic Pate because I won't know what to do. Take care all of you cat lovers!

Yes, I recommend this product.
