Is it normal for a dog to poop ~4 times per day? I feed him 4 oz Wellness Core grain-free canned food twice a day, so it isn't cheap food. Per vet he needs to gain weight (he was a stray and VERY skinny) so I wonder if maybe it's because of the extra food? His poops are small, dark, and firm.
Eats core wellness grain free ocean formula because of unknown allergy (licks her paws all the time). Finished a 26 lbs bag already but zero difference. I want to get this canned food for my dog as a topper to her dry food. It has shredded chicken along with whole white beans, peas and potatoes. Will she be able to digest this ok because the beans, peas and potatoes are not ground into a pate texture? she's on the dry version of this currently. I also ditched the twelve calorie treats and purchased the smaller 2 calorie treats and I'm only giving her three of those per day. Her total intake of extras is now less than 10% of her diet. :-)
My dog has been on a grain free soy free and chicken free food for about 8 months, He is 3 and has been gaining weight. He eats about 1/2 can of food twice a day and maybe a handful of dry food in between. He is never been a very active dog. He is part beagle and part chihuahua.
