Digestive upset in my puppy

I tried to introduce this food to my puppy twice and both times he was up multiple times in the night with diarrea and vomiting. I will be taking this food back for a refund. I picked this food out because I liked the list of ingredients it seemed the most natural.

We have been using Wellness foods for both our dogs and cat for 11 years. Originally we went with Core but due to the Grain Free scare and our Vet wanting us to change to a grain inclusive food we moved to the Wellness Complete line. Since I lost my 10 year old Lhasa to CHF this past August, he was born with a heart murmur, I decided to error with caution. When I got my new Lhasa in January we put him on the puppy Core until I did some research and decided to go with the Puppy Complete. Moving him from Core to the Complete changed his stools from smaller formed stools to larger softer stools, he's been on the Complete formula for a month, the stools are now more formed but still really soft. I feel the Core Formula digests better than the Complete but he's not having gas or going more often than he always has so I'll leave him where he is for now. I am not saying Core had anything to do with my boys CHF, due to the Vets out there the minute you say Grain Free they look at you like your trying to make your dog sick. So it's just easier to go grain exclusive for now. Once he's ready to move to adult food I'll reexamine my choice and decide which way to go. I believe Wellness is one of the best brands on the market, wouldn't feed my pets anything but!

Digestive struggled for puppy

We adopted a puppy and wanted to put her on a food with simple real ingredients. We found wellness brand and loved it. Unfortunately shortly after transitioning her she began experiencing GI struggles and lose stool. After many vet visits we had our pup on a prescription diet for 2 weeks to resolve the issue. The minute we began mixing in this food again she immediately had lose stools and diarrhea. We are very bummed to have to change her food but hopeful to find a wellness food she does well on.

I chose this brand for my new puppy because it was highly recommended. Just as a couple of the other pups in these reviews, my puppy became really gassy and had 3-4 loose stools a day. I took him off of this food and he is back to normal. A little disappointed but not discouraged in this brand. My older dog does well with the large breed complete health dog food.

We did a lot of research prior to choose wellness for our new puppy. We got him a month ago, did the transition and the gastro issues never stopped since. We did a full check up at the vet and the only conclusion was that the food is giving him issues. It's unfortunate. :(

Great quality pup food

Ingredients look top notch and upon reading the many reviews online, it seemed like the perfect puppy food. Unfortunately my golden retriever has refused to eat even though I have tried my best to gradually transition him. As a last resort I added just 6 pieces of kibble into his usual food to see if he would eat but somehow he managed to leave all 6 pieces behind and eat the rest of his usual kibble. Sadly am now stuck with 2 bags of kibble that puppy refuses to eat.

Pea Protein or Grain Replacement?

I recently read an article about what veterinarians thought the best dog foods on the markets were. There was a concerning piece about legume and pee protein in dog food. I recently switched my German Shepherd puppy over to your Wellness complete health puppy deboned chicken.... and found that the 5th ingredient is peas assuming that that is added protein or grains? My question is in terms of AAFCO recognition as well as what this article is stating, can you assure me that the pea protein content is not too high to where It is possible for large breed dogs to develop DCM or affect the uptake of amino acids? Is this concern or argument below valid or do you have articles or studies that would otherwise counter this concern? The quote from the article: "FDA recently put out a warning about certain grain-free dog foods, which the agency thinks may be linked to an increase in dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM) in dogs. According to veterinarian Sara Ochoa, “Large and giant breed dogs are predisposed to this disease.” The majority of the vets we spoke with explained that the correlation isn’t from the lack of grains in these foods, but rather from the legumes or peas that have been added as a replacement.
