I have a white German Shepherd whose coat is thick. Will these work on him?
- Hello, I was a former dog groomer for a big box store. It is not advisable to thin a German Shepard's coat with shears, as it is a drop coat. Doing so will make the fur grow back darker and/or strange. Instead, trump using a product such as a Furminator to de-shed and thin out drop coats.

Hello, I have had my beloved cat, Lolly, since kindergarten making her 17 years of age. Recently I retrieved her from my mother's house and noticed her unkempt hair. She now has a surfeit of tangled clumps of matted fur varying in size. How should I proceed, are there any special shampoos or products that would help? I heard they are not supposed to be cut off. I how a 10 year yorkie/maltests mix and noticed her front toe nails are very long and curving. Apparently her groomer has not been trimming them, Can they be trimmed with no pain to her or does she need to see her vet.
Have a spunky new rescue chihuahua mix and she is skittish. So much so she will resist any efforts to trim her nails. We have 4 dogs so I have trimmed nails hundreds of times--but with Ricki Ricardo, no luck. I sit on the floor and flip them over and cradle them between my legs. My wife distracts them with peanut butter on a spoon. Besides going to a groomer or vet, any ideas? I thought maybe a groomer table might help.
