How to trim your dog's nails: Holding your dog's paw firmly in one hand, insert the nail into opening above the cutting blade and squeeze the handles together. If your dog's nails are extremely long, trim just a little off and wait a week to trim the nails again. This will allow the blood vessels to retreat back into the nail. Repeat the procedure once a week until you have reached the desired length. Important: If you cut too much and the nail starts to bleed, apply Four Paws Styptic Powder to the nail and the bleeding should stop.

Bought these as an upgrade to a $5-$10 pair I've been using. The blades are looser and tougher to clip with than the cheaper pair I thought I was upgrading from. The mechanism that also closes the clippers for safety often engages while using the clippers which is annoying to say the least.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Works great exspecicaly for beagle who doesn't sit still and barks like he's dying. But it didn't long for him to realize it was hurting and now he just sits there and let us trim them

This is not very well made and the guard does not stay put so you have to try to hold it in place while cutting your dog’s nail.

Have a puppy with growing nails and these are perfect. Large dog with large nails. Clippers worked with no problems.

Poor handle design leads to pinched hands.

These clippers pinch my hand every time I cut a nail. They also take more force to cut than the previous, cheap pair I was replacing. I stopped using them after two uses.

Got these for our almost 3 year old pitbull, because we lost the previous pair he's had since he was a few months old. It was the same ones but the slightly smaller version. That size worked perfectly as well, wasn't too small for his claws. Guess this was his big boy upgrade for his birthday. We tried a cheap pair from another store and it couldn't cut through his nails at all. These clippers are much higher quality for a comparable price. They're sharp, long lasting, and very sturdy. We love them!

I just bought these trying something new because my old ones broke. But i will stick to my old ones. These suck at cutting, dont reach under rhe nail, and make a scary hideous sound when used. Never again.

Hi! I bought the clippers for large dogs. It has the safety latch, BUT IT has a moveable peice on one side,(which moves from side to side) . It does tighten abit on one side of the blade.  My question is, what exactly is this piece for?  help please!

  1. Hi Nanabanana51, If you are referring to the silver vertical piece that runs along the backside of the head of the toll then it is used to assist in preventing the guest from hitting the quick while clipping the nail. We would need a picture to verify that this is the piece you are referring to. Thanks
