Have a spunky new rescue chihuahua mix and she is skittish. So much so she will resist any efforts to trim her nails. We have 4 dogs so I have trimmed nails hundreds of times--but with Ricki Ricardo, no luck. I sit on the floor and flip them over and cradle them between my legs. My wife distracts them with peanut butter on a spoon. Besides going to a groomer or vet, any ideas? I thought maybe a groomer table might help. Are there premium nail cutters of higher quality than store bought?

My dog is a maltese/poodle and about 6 yrs. old. He was a rescue from PetCo. We are not active people being in our 70's and have med. conditions but he sometimes gets a run but usually a mild walk. He has been chewing at his front legs to where they are discolored. At his last grooming his eyes became irritated from the eyebrows being shaved too close and he kept rubbing them so I washed them with a boric acid solution made for humans. They seem better but still have the hard gunk on the edges.

I recently took my CiCi to a groomer that had been referred to me by a friend. She used to love getting ( above the tail) scratches and now she all of a sudden yelps when you get close to that same area or will turn around and not let us scratch there. Is this something I should be concerned about? She’s never done this before? I did look under her fur by petting her the opposite way and I didn’t see any abrasions either?

mini dachshund with black fur, last 3-4 weeks started noticing some light bare spots on her back where he may have been biting?and some of the surrounding fur has a grayish tint to it closest picture I found was a black dog with Seborrhea. My dog Zeus has recently developed a fear over getting his claws clipped, I have tried restraining and also letting him come to me on his own but he is just to afraid. I have contacted the local veterinarian hospital and they want to charge over $200. I have some training in veterinary assistance and am fully capable of trimming his nails myself. Is there an at home medication I can give him to do this myself? He is about 85 pounds. I also already have trazadone if that is a suggestion.
