Nala will be getting spayed very soon and I was wondering what would be the best effective recovery cone to use on her considering she is a semi large dog. As well make her feel more comfortable
Do you think my dogs stitches are healing well from being spayed she wears the cone since she left the vets
My dog had surgery today for a torn acl. Upon picking the dog up post surgery, I noticed both his seresto collar and the cone applied were extremely tight. To the point where I could not fit a single finger under the cone. My dog was drooling extensively as well. I loosened both. Upon getting him home I noticed his neck had a swollen soft pouch that was not there prior to surgery. Could this be potential damage to his salivary gland due to the tightness of the cone/collar?
Pet got spayed 10 days ago, cone removal is 2 days from now. How are we doing?
dog had hip surgery Mon. Looks like collar is irritating the top 2 pins. All the others are fine. Redness extends where collar chaffs. On antibiotics. No fever.
My dog has an open sore on his tail which is about an inch long and 1/2 wide - took him to local vat and he was treated and given a collar to wear - the collar was too short and he could still get to the wound - was told by vet that wound seemed to be healing ok but it seems worse today. Would rather not return to this vet - would like to see about alternative solutions. I need a longer collar or something to keep him away from the wound.
Our 1 year old German Shepherd got spayed last 3/27 and we had placed a cone on her. Going on about a 1-1/2 weeks now and the cone is now totally torn. Would we still need to buy and put another on her? Thanks.
Hi. I got my puppy spayed today. She’s got a bandage around her neck and a plastic collar however I feel like it’s too tight for her and she doesn’t look comfortable and starts choking sometimes. Is it okay to remove the bandage and leave the cone only? I also got her another cone but I’m not sure if I can change it or should leave the plastic one?
Is my dog recovering well after being fixed?
7mo old husky neutered Thursday. Popped his glue open Saturday afternoon. Cleaned with sterile saline, a teeny bit of antibiotic ointment applied, reglued, and put a diaper on him overnight (done ourselves). Trying to keep him inactive is difficult. He's eating/drinking, and in good spirits/just wants to play. Wearing cone, but keeps bumping his incision trying to get to it. A bit of clear discharge tinged slightly pink, but no pus. Still pretty swollen, but I expect it after yesterday. Look ok?
Tomorrow will be the 2 full weeks since surgery. He’s been wearing the ecollar the whole time and not messed with it and he also doesn’t seem to be in pain. With the incision looking like this will it be okay to finally let him loose and not wear the collar anymore?
Lucy got spayed last Thursday and seems to be doing fine. We have kept her restricted in certain areas-her kennel, wearing a cone, staying indoors, etc. It has been 6 days and she seems to be doing great. She wants her cone off and seems to be healing well. Do you think that it’s okay to let her have her cone off?
