Good for bonding / comfort grooming

SynAethra

Decent little brush I got for my cat who is in a recovery cone and can't groom herself well. The softer bristles give a nice massage for her as she relaxes in my lap. The other side slicks the loose fur away. It's not a heavy duty shedding brush but moreso one for bonding and general oil redistribution. She loves brush time now.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Not just for cats!

As the owner of a small dog (miniature schnauzer) this cat brush was perfect for my needs! Schnauzers have hair over the typical fur so brushing is a daily necessity to avoid matting. This cat brush is the PERFECT size for my 15 lb pup! We have other brushes at home, but they are larger and harder to manage. The size of this item is perfect for smaller dogs (and cats, obviously). The quality is well-built and seems to be built to last. It is (ever so slightly) softer than other brushes I have owned, but this is ideal for my use case. Make no mistake though softer does not mean flimsy. This is a solid brush and my new go-to for daily grooming.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Good for mild brushing and massaging!

This is overall a pretty decent brush. My cats definitely seem to enjoy it more than other brushes in the past, and I feel like it had a second use as a massager! My only issue was that it didn’t seem to get as much of the loose fur as other brushes I’ve used in the past. It got plenty of surface fur, but I don’t think it reached my cat’s undercoat as well. It did a great job of cleaning up the loose, shedding fur, though!

Not good for a domestic shorthair.

So, this brush is huge. It could honestly be a human brush. The wide bristles with the ball ends are just weird for a domestic shorthair. I tried it on all three of my cats and they could all care less. One cat kept rubbing his chin back and forth and almost got his hair tangled, so don’t let your cat do that! The bristle side is the side that my cats enjoy, but it does nothing for hair removal. Maybe it spreads oil around…?? My cats were definitely intimidated by its size. Maybe if you had one of those Norwegian Forest cats that are huge with a dense coat? Or a dog?

No, I do not recommend this product.

What are the dimensions of this brush? Thank you!

  1. About the size of a normal human hairbrush

Is there a brush that gets out matts on my 2 long haired cats

  1. Hello! Personally I use a slicker brush to help get out any matts or knots in long haired cats at the shelter. Short gentle strokes starting from the bottom up in a similar way we detangle hair on human heads. There's also the furminator de-matt but that's only in the most serious cases. Once done de-matting we go through it again with a pin cushion brush.
