Fresh Pet Small Breed

I started feeding this selection and the Meat with egg small breed. My furbaby loves it and has had no issues. She’s very fussy and it’s been a struggle to feed her until Fresh Pet.

How long do unopened bags last in the refrigerator?

  1. Thanks for reaching out. Freshpet recipes come with a Sell by Date. You can safely store the recipe in your refrigerator unopened until that date. Once opened you need to use the recipe within 7 days. Keep them refrigerated and treat our recipes the same way you treat your fresh meats. We hope this helps! – Jillian

Do you have a low sodium version for older dogs?

How many cups in a 1 lb bag?

    1. A little over 3 cups

Does this fresh pet food smell bad because of the chicken liver in the food?

      Can you freeze this food?

      1. I just got an order of 6 bags and all over the packaging it says “do not freeze”

Do you have a low fat dog food.

        Does this food need refrigeration?

        1. yes

So I saw someone posted about the garlic and saw your reply.. But if they are eating this everyday like as their regular dog food. Is that dangerous? Its not eating in one sitting I am concerned I am talking over time if this was their regular dog food.

        1. In the 90’s ppl were giving their dogs garlic as a natural flea deterrent. I had a dog that needed special food that she hated so I cooked chicken with garlic and made the broth in to ice cubes. I would melt this on her special food to get her to eat. She ate this for 5 years and never had an issue. She had IBD and had to eat Z/D. I lost her to liver cancer due to the steroids she had to be on for her disease. She was 14.2 yrs old. They had told me to put her down when she was 2 due to the severity of her IBD. The garlic never bothered her a bit but some dogs could be more sensitive I guess, I am not a vet. . My new dog is on this food and has been for 6 months, it has given her energy and I see nothing but positive since we changed to this. Hope this helps.

I see that garlic powder is an ingredient. I thought garlic was dangerous for dogs?

        1. I checked with a veterinarian who said garlic is toxic to dogs if they eat 11 cloves of garlic or more in one serving.
