Lysine Plus is recommended to support immune system function, collagen formation, tissue repair, antioxidant activity, and antibody and lymphocyte production. The amino acid L-lysine supports hormone, antibody and enzyme production, as well as collagen formation and tissue repair. The inclusion of DMG supports methylation, providing useful methyl groups to support the production of hormones, neurotransmitters, antibodies, nucleic acids, and other metabolically active molecules.

What it is a vet recommend L-lysine for a kitten of 11-12 weeks and will it help her fight her upper respiratory infection? Thank you
Is L-Lysine a good supplement for cats or is it just an unnecessary and useless supplement?
Product recommendation pls: naturvet Omega gold plus salmon oil chews vs VetriScience derma strength every day health chews; pls see attached pics. Looking for Omega 3 supplement (chews). Nikki eats core wellness grain free ocean flavor. Being using VetriScience, her itchiness from unknown allergy hasn't improved. On the other hand, I would like to know where/how I can get cytopoint, asked my vet but they don't have it. Thanks !
My cat was having sneezing fits due to the herpesvirus. My vet instructed me to give a 500mg lysine chew in the morning and a 500mg chew at night. I have been doing this since Monday and have noticed a significant improvement. However, I read online that it doesn’t work and is actually harmful to the cats. Is it true that its potentially detrimental to my cats health?
My cat keeps sneezing, the vet I went to two weeks ago said it should be fine unless she is having alot of discharge from her eyes, the vet prescribed me this viralys l-lysine supplement for two weeks
Is it okay to give my male cat a pet lysine supplement while he is weaning off prednisone because he started sneezing. Supplement states 1/8 teaspoon twice a day equaling 548 mg of lysine for a cat older than 6 months, is this okay to give while he is wraning off prednisone?
My eight year old calico cat was diagnosed by my DVM with herpes and possible food allergies, particularly to chicken. She is given lysine powder daily as prescribed by my vet. She is constantly scratching her face, specifically around her eyes, her ears are hot. The cat is clearly uncomfortable. Would offering her 1/2 a child's Benadryl tab be advisable?
My two cats ate the entire bag(100 chews) of Lysine Plus which contains mainly Lysine and DMG while i was sleeping. one of them has vomited. and they are both very thirsty. Should I take them to vet??? What should I do???
My kitten was breathing really fast yesterday and we took her to the ER Vet. They told us they think she may have a respiratory disease and have her some injections. They also gave us some chewable supplements (Vetri Lysine Plus) that she is supposed to eat twice a day every 12 hours. I’ve been trying all night and she won’t eat food (wet or dry) and she won’t eat the supplement either. I’ve tried warming up her wet food and she just moves away from it.
I am fostering 2 kittens for the SPCA. I got them 2 weeks ago with runny eyes and sneezing. The shelter doesn't like to give 7 week old kittens medicine. I put them on VetriScience Vetri Lysine Plus 2 weeks ago. They are still sneezing like crazy. What can I give them? They are 3 pounds.
My cat suffers from dark eye discharge that I believe is related to respiratory issues. I previously asked a question about him here before and I was told that respiratory problems are often chronic and he could benefit from supplements. I wanted to know if Licks Immunity Disease Defense Cat Supplement would be good to give him. It seems to be specifically for respiratory health. Also, are there any risks I should be aware of? I don't want to give him something that could make him sick.
Hello, can I give a L-Lysine to a nursing kitten? if yes, how I can do that - mix with water or milk? I bottle feed him. Thanks
